In the book Boy Shopping by Nia Stephens, Kiki, an African American teenage girl, wants to find her perfect soul mate. Kiki is sick of being treated like one of the guys. She's a drummer with a great sense of style and the boys are always hitting on her. But the only ones actually asking her out are her band friends. This book is teen fiction and is geared towards young women who want to learn a thing or two about dating.
I found this book very interesting to read because it's weird More...

Kiki, a cool drummer and a chick. Everyone has always looked at her as if she was only a drummer and not a girl, being treated like one of the guys in her band. She has a crush on her best friend Mark, but he doesn't see the word "girl" on Kiki's forehead. He only treats her as his best friend and not his girlfriend, a totally More...

Kiki is a drummer, who has an amazing style. But she's tired of being one the boys, she has eye on so caled best/close freind Mark who is also in the band with her. Unforunatly a lot girls are also after him, too bad because he is the only person in the band that is not after Kiki. As she was about to give up on boys, a freind reccomended her a site where you can choose which boys are your best match.

I thought it was creative how the author can let the reader control w More...

Wow! What can I say about Boy Shopping? Well I could say it was a very good book by Nia Stephens. I loved it. It was so different than many other books that I have read or even look at briefly. It was about a rocker chick named Kiki who really should have a date close to almost every night. But unfortunately she doesn’t. But her luck turns when her friend tells her about this online dating website. She also plays the drums in a band called Temporary Insanity with two of her boy best friends. The More...

I saw this book on my friends' goodread and I found it to be interesting. (title-wise).
I love how this book made people like me, love it. The reason for this is, you can actually choose who you want to go out with instead of boys rejecting you.
The main character in this book, Kiki really likes her best friend who is a guy but the guy doesn't really feel the same about her. He just thinks of her as a friend.
I wish in life, we can choose who we can go out with instead of all these d

I liked the concept of a "Choose Your Own Adventure/Boy" YA book, but I thought the execution wasn't great. Many of the alternate paths (i.e. dump him or keep dating) had repetitive writing with some conversations nearly verbatim. One of the guys was basically a stalker.

Other annoying things
- The main character ditched her friend at a party (seems like an opportunity for date rape possibilities galore)
- The main character freaked out over bootlegs of her band' More...

A cute read. It was nice to have a plan-your-own-future books with a main character who actually looked like me (African American). It's a fun and fast read and I enjoy choosing the various options. Not sure what the point of buying the book is though, more like a library book to me.

boys are the only ones that can be a player a girl can too and kiki is one of those girl players. kiki really doesn't have anything new in her life, boys are just not interesting now, until she found out something called boy shopping. kiki now found herself stuck in between some boys and she has alot of questions going in and out of her head. she doesn't know which one is right for her or which one she can really depned on.

So the synopsis seemed cool. Oh look, single girl wants a guy, dating website. But what the hell? What author does this? Pick a chapter, read what happens, then go back and pick another if you want? No, thats not a book. Not at all. Very disappointing.

Not really worth the read. I thought I should give books where you can skip and choose a character's fait, again. Thinking it would be thrilling, now I know that books similar to that and this particular one are not what interest me.
