Dear Reader,

Life is great for me. I have my chicory coffee, my warm beignets, and my best friend on the cell phone. Once the sun goes down, I am the baddest thing prowling the night: I command the elements, and I know no fear. For centuries, I've protected the innocent and watched over the mankind, making sure they are safe in a world where nothing is ever certain. All I w

I wasn't crazy about this DH book like the other ones because, gasp, I think there is too much sex in this book. The sex scenes get to the point where you're skimming because you want to get back to the story. I realize that fundamentally, Sunshine and Talon are very sexual beings. No issue there. Some people are. But after a while I didn't really need to read more scenes with them being sexual. I just got old and distracting from the plot and Kenyon's phenomenal storytelling.

"3.5 stars" I know that the Dark-Hunter series is an extremely popular one, and after reading and thoroughly enjoying Fantasy Lover, the prequel, I truly thought that the series would become a favorite of mine too. Unfortunately, I have yet to be completely sucked in by it. The next two stories in the series both suffered from some of the same problems, and for me, Night Embrace has followed in their footsteps. While there were some things that I really liked about the bo

This is the best way I can describe how I felt reading this book. I didn't read the previous books in the series, so I'm definitely at fault for feeling a little behind and lost but holy guacamole. I liked the book but trying to grasp all the characters, their identities, and all their agendas made me sweat from exhaustion.

How I imagine the author writing this. Seriously, we've got gods from EVERY mythology, paranormal beings, and bears, oh my! You know someone out there has cataloged all these

My experience with this series is that most of the books are painfully annoying and difficult to finish. I found the first two books in this series only slightly entertaining. I started seeing annoying similarities and patterns to the series by the second book. Now the third book is repeating these same similarities and cookie cutter patterns to an irritating degree.

The authors dialogue is lacking and there is overuse of adjectives and specific phrases. Like the repetitive use of "Oh yeah"... "O

Talon is a Celt. Born 1,500 years ago, he has a tragic backstory... like all demon-hunters in this series. (I refuse to call them Dark-Hunters... it's just so silly sounding.) ANYWAY.
- At age 7, he and his infant sister Caera were thrown out of their Druid tribe because their parents died.
- They're taken in by their birth clan, the Celts, but are hated and despised because their mother left the clan to marry a Druid.
- Talon has to put the beat down on everyone to gain respect for him and his
I loved the first 1/3 of this book, the heroine was really interesting, not the simpery virgin you usually see, but then the book rabbit-trailed off into a million different directions, not the most satisfying conclusion. I dunno. I am intrigued about a few of the other characters so I might try a few more books.

Also the Alpha male thing is getting old to me, too many in a row, I've burnt out lol.
[image error]OMG I missed my favorite characters, they were introduce in this book:D..from Vane, Val, Zarek, Wren, and Nick(oh my poor Nicky, I missed his old self, always teasing Ash, and always got a humor handy when there's a problem brewing in the story now in the new books he's all bad and untamable and hates everyone including Ash:\) and oh found Dev in the story with the rest of the Peltier family where they owned the awesome Sanctuary, a famous Biker bar where "weres" like them can socia ...more

This is Talons story and my oh my was it hot! I am not sure where to even begin, I guess I will keep this review short and sweet and just say that Kenyon has done a fantastic job with her characters. Sunshine was so laugh out loud funny! Her eccentricities never became too much, she was just warm and very believeable. I really like all the additional information we get throughout the story as well. Talon and Sunshine are the central love story but Kenyon throws in all kinds of hilariou

'Night Embrace' didn't live up to the two previous Sherrilyn Kenyon books I had read, yet it was my pleasurable read.
Hope the next one will be better.

(There's a long way for me to reach Acheron book! I'm dying to read his story!!!)

Night Embrace is the amazing story of Talon and Sunshine.

Sunshine comes from a carefree and loving family. Filled with laughter and friendship, Sunshine leads the sweet life of an artist. Drowning in pink and purple flowers while singing Puff the Magic Dragon, she is everything that will drive Talon up the wall. Or seduce him with amusement.

“You know, Sunshine, you need to find a man like that to marry. Someone so well hung that even after three or four kids, he’d still be wall to wall.”

Man, oh man, did I try. I really, really did. I swear. But I'm just not ever going to finish this book.

So here's what I don't like about these books. It took me awhile to put my finger on it, but here's the bottom line. Come close so I can whisper it in your ear. Ready?

Sherrilyn Kenyon is a big dork.

That's right, I said it. She's trying to write (presumbly edgy) books about big, bad warriors in leather but she can't get the dialogue right because she's a big dork! No one has used the term "not

Night Embrace is the third installment I’ve read in the Dark Hunter series. It’s fun, fast paced and filled with exciting characters. I will admit after reading three books in this series that it’s starting to remind me of JR Ward’s BDB series with eternal creatures that roam the night protecting humans from vampire baddies. Their ultimate leader is a fearless woman, their demise will lead them to Shadedom… yes, quite a bit of similarities coupled

Like every other night Talon is enjoying his chicory coffee and beignets at his favorite coffee shop in New Orleans. Or at least he's trying to, when he has to go after some Daimons who seem to be prowling after an unsuspecting woman. After fighting them and saving the woman he runs off to get away from her, in order to keep her questions and suspicions down. But what he doesn't suspect is to be run over by a Mardi Gras float. After passing out, Sunshine takes him to her loft to let him sleep it ...more

Ahhhhhhhhh Litterally read this book in just one day, Once I started I just couldn't put it down, I loved this book the first time I read it years ago and LOVED it just as much the second time around. Talon and Sunshine's stroy is beautiful one, where do I start with this book, It's HOT and STEAMY and everything in between. Lots of my favorite characters are introduced as well, Wren, Vane, Valerius, Zarek, Fang. and the GODS are explained more in this 3rd book in the series. The

Dear Talon,
I’ll hold your spear.

NIGHT EMBRACE is the second book in the Dark Hunters series and I have to say that it is definitely my favorite so far! I usually have a problem with Kenyon’s tendency to overdramaticize, but for this book, I don’t think she pulled anything crazy or over the top.

As always, the hero is a tortured soul. Talon has lost something that he holds dear. But he doesn’t allow it to run his life now. I loved Talon’s lighthearted attitude.

This was much better than the first one, but it sort of lost it towards the end - so this one gets a 3 Star rating as well.

These books are hard books to rate because I really, really like them but the quality doesn't warrant any higher than what I've given it. It's a shame. The writing itself is actually very good, but the pacing and plot need a lot of work. I'm hoping this improves as the books progress because I'm really enjoying the world that Sherrilyn Kenyon has created.

I loved it!!!!!!! Love love love. Review coming soon !
It wasn't bad actually... but it also wasn't a great read. What I said about the first book, stands for me:

I have been told by so many that I would LOVE this author + that the earlier books in this series are gold... so I had to check it out. Here's my verdict:
1. Don't like this world. It just doesn't make sense to me. To be in this "dark hunters" club you have to have had such a F'ed up life/betrayed/etc. that when you die you catch the goddesses notice and she turns you into a creature of the

Things to expect when reading a Dark-Hunter book:

1. ALL characters suffer from a serious case of spill your guts to strangers-itis. Doesn't matter if they've just met you or whether the topic is too personal, these people will tell you anything you want to know and then some. With an audience, if need be.

2. Characters will not figure things out until it's time for the big reveal. Sure, the clues will be following them around wearing a pink tutu and singing some Nicki Minaj, but no one will stop
I think this is one of my favorite Dark-Hunter books so far. I already loved Talon from the other books I read about him in, but this book made me appreciate him even more. I have to say, I think Sunshine was hilarious, especially with the way she was always forgeting things. I was surprised to find that Sunshine's grandma was an ancient Celtic goddess, though. I was very happy that Vane and Fang showed up in this book, and I have now decided that I adore Fang. He was very hilarious to me, and V ...more
