This book is part of an alphabet mystery series, but not the one written by Sue Grafton. These are children's books, "chapter books", short novels that you can read aloud to your kids, or have them read aloud to you.

Finally a book in this series that everyone liked. We were unable to solve the mystery on our own before the characters did, which was a first for us, so this was a more compelling read. Also, the clue that solved it was very clever, not so believable, but fun in its originality. Also, there was a child from another culture, something that my multicultural kids always enjoy reading about.

Not particularly memorable from a parent's perspective, but the A to Z mysteries aren't a bad series either. The story lines are somewhat clever, although it doesn't take a genuis to figure out the mysteries, but it's probably just about the right level for the age group it's aimed at. Good for kids to read on their own.

This was the second book that we've read in this "A to Z mysteries" series. So far, we've enjoyed them; they are clever enough to be somewhat interesting for me and simple enough for our girls to deduce some of the plot from the clues. We are looking forward to reading more books in this series.
