She swallowed. “What…what are you going to do to me?”

“Yes…” Holy shit, she was going to orgasm—

This isn't a review, it's a rant and it's full of spoilers. There are plenty of reviews of this book all around and I don't feel like writing another one. BUT I do need to get this anger off my chest, so here I go...
First off, let me say that I was warned about the crappy ending of this book beforehand. I wasn't thrilled about it, but I was willing to give Ms. Ward the chance to prove me that she had pulled it off in a satisfying way when all was said and done. Well, she didn't... at least, not...more

5 Vee-licious Stars!! My favorite of the series so far!!
Butch's book, Lover Revealed, was such a disappointment, I was hesitant to continue the series, but I loved V so much, I needed to find out if he got a heroine worthy of him! Well the other half of the bromance got his due and J.R Ward hit it OUT OF THE PARK in Lover Unbound!!

Vishous is now my favorite member of the brotherhood... TRUE!

“Terrific. A bisexual dominant vampire with kidnapping expertise.”
I loved Vishous, I loved Jane, I just LOVED this book!!!!!

Things have been ‘off’ with Vishous for a while now. His visions have dried up. He’s not sleeping well, having nightmares. And to top it off, he has feelings for his roommate, Butch, who is mated to Marissa. V copes by drinking Goose, and going to his penthouse for some fun.

His ‘birthday’ is coming up. T...more

~AWESOME, WITH AN UNCONVENTIONAL ENDING~
Book 5 in JR Wards sexy Black Dagger Brotherhood series is all about Vishous and "Doc" Jane. It's another great addition and I really enjoyed witnessing V let his guard down and fall in love. I found him to be surprisingly considerate and gentle especially for someone who's into sadomasochism. His falling for Jane is believable and makes sense as she's his intellectual equal and he respects her for it. Sh...more

In this fifth book of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, we get to experience life (the past, present and occasional future) through V's eyes.
And that's a good thing because Vishous is an extremely intriguing character indeed. One with a very extensive, shocking and often heart breaking back story.
In my opinion the transition of the series from PNR to UF is already apparent in this book. The story is layered, told from many perspectives and the romance doesn't overshadow the action. And even...more

From what I understand, this book created a lot of controversy...so to speak. I have read several reviews, and have seen posts crying out for JR Ward to re-write this book. That Vishous was cheated out of a mate...they hate/or hate that Jane ended up like she did.
I am not one of those people. I really loved this book. Yes, it is not the easy happily ever after that we are used to, but dang...it was still good.

I loved the book , and it was a perfect start to my bday month hehe!
Well after everybody saying so much about the ending I had to check it and so yes the suspense and heartbreak wasn't much ! But even after that I still cried with V :(:(

As far as romance novel heroes go, Vishous is a deviant. He’s bisexual. He’s in love with another man. He’s into hardcore BDSM. And he has a magic, glowing hand that can both heal people and electrocute them AND he can use it to incinerate cigarette butts into dusty oblivion. Um, okay!
Jane Whitcomb’s talents aren’t nearly as interesting. She’s a human. She’s an outstanding surgeon. She swears a lot. And she smarts off to Vishous, which is a major turn on for him (go figure).

I LOVE V! but after reading Lover Revealed, I thought that Lover Unbound wasn't as good as the rest. Though I loved V's interactions with the Brothers and Jane, I didn't feel totally captured by their love. There was something about Jane that I couldn’t relate with. I loved her brains and her smart-ass remarks, but out of all the shellans, she was my least favourite.

This book was amazing in a lot of ways. Who would have thought I would go ga-ga over a bisexual, seriously dominant, kinda scary guy like Vishous? Well I fell, flat on my face. This guy is amazing. He is extremely attractive, imagine big, tall, ice blue eyes, black hair (I'm a sucker for blue eyes and black hair), and extremely intelligent also.

Oh my. I have mixed emotions about this book. First of all, I thought the writing was exceptional. The way the author used words to bring humor to this otherwise humorless book was amazing: ...had him up against the wall like a velvet Elvis, Rocky Balboa face, gone all Jose Conseco with the bat, etc.
This was not a "feel good" romance, but a dark and sinister read. It was an intense, sad, and emotional book. Wonderful imagination!

Lover Unbound is probably the darkest book I have ever read of the BDB series. I still have to see about Lover Enshrined and Lover Avenged but I would be shocked if it got any more somber than this book. But I give this book five stars because like the rest of the books, it still managed rock my world and turn me in, turn me out!

A lot of BDB series fans were unhappy with this book, but I loved it. I thought the relationship between warrior/brother Vishous and smart doc Jane was refreshing and incredibly sexy. The BDSM scenes were erotic, yet surprisingly sweet and tender. V is a total badass, and I love the way he and Butch sling teasing jibes and quips left and right at each other, yet there’s a deep, underlying respect and affection between them that adds a beautiful element to the story and...more

I surprised myself with how much I liked this book, because Vishous has been developed as some kind of weird, kinky character. But when we learn more about the brutality he experienced when living/training with his father, and his experiences before he joined the Brotherhood, it's hard to not develop empathy for him. Then he meets Jane, and there were the expected ups and down of their developing relationship, but that was the most bizarre resolution for lovers that I've ever seen! Dropped it fr...more
I liked all the side stories and their progression. I agree with the others that there wasn't enough Vishous/Jane one on one time. I am happy V got an HEA, I just don't like how it was done. I feel like V was robbed.
Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.
I read this book in one sitting. I wanted to love this book, instead I loved it and kinda...disliked it.
First things first....
The Great:
1) multiple storyline and continuing arcs. I adore the way JR Ward juggles the storylines. We have Vishous' story front and center, we have John's ongoing arc and then we have the beginnings of Phury's story. She slides from one to the other effortlessly and keeps them so interesting that I'd didn't skip impatiently over one to get to the others...more

WOW! Now, I have to say that I read a bunch of the spoilers / reviews for this book ahead of time and so my expectations were low. Maybe that's why I thought the book was awesome comparitively. V has always been the most complex and closed-down Brother to figure out. He sees everyone's future - knows their thoughts - and yet is always alone. Until Butch. Butch changed things for V and I know so many people thought of it was a sexual love and I really think V even believed/believes that. I think...more

How did this installment disappoint me, let me count the ways:
First- there were way too many sub-plots and not enough main character action. It seems Ms. Ward spent so much time writing about John Michael and Phury to set up future books that she forgot that THIS book was supposed to highlight Vishous.
Second- when I say "plots" I have to use the term lightly because the only real subject of all three was sex. Very little else went on. In Vishous' story I can understand his S&M leanings give...more
