This book is rather uninteresting. It took almost 300 pages to pick up and then the ending was very poor. A character that was introduced in the beginning and played a rather vital role in the beginning ended up being an unseen and unheard from entity. She should have been featured a little more prominently in the book. Why introduce her with so much background information and not use her more? The main characters had less background info than she did.

The Prey series is pretty damn good.....as you can see from the number of books I have read in the series!

I always enjoy Lucas Davenport's cases but this one didn't hold my interest as much as others. It was good and as well written as all the previous stories I just didn't care for the Russian "mob/spy" angle.

As always, another fine Prey book from the master of action-packed thrillers, John Sandford.

I finished this one last night. As I said, I've read some of the Prey books, and I like the Lucas Davenport character enough to pick this title up when I came across it; this one wasn't one of my favorites. While Sandford's sly wit & deft descriptions are both packed throughout the book, the storyline (IMO) wasn't one of his best. Perhaps its because *we* know early on who the 'bad guy' is, or maybe I'm disappointed at the death of one of the characters in this one, I don't know. I *do* enjo...more

I enjoyed this book the most of all the John Sandfords I read. The main character is still cocky to the point I don't really like him but the story really was good without liking him. You knew who the killer was from the beginning and you saw how close the cops got to catching him and missed him. It was almost a page turner in parts.

i really liked this prey book. part of its allure to me though deals with the fact that it's set in duluth, mn, and that's where i went to college, so i was really familiar with the settings in the book (not that i'm not familiar with the other mn settings, but the duluth settings were just extra fun).

Admittedly, this wasn't my favorite book among the Prey series. This one involves a murdered Russian, spy rings, and a Russian cop tagging along with Davenport to catch the killer. It moves along quickly enough, but the storyline just wasn't as interesting to me as past Prey books.

This one was kind of hard to follow. Of course, I'm only half-listening to it while I work. I didn't quite understand the whole Russian-spy thing and why these people died.

Really great and kept me coming back for more. Wonderful character development, even cameo characters. Would definately read another from this author.

Yet another Johns Sandford, Lucas Davenport novel. It was as good as all the rest.
