I've been surprised at how good this book has been as a supplemental resource for activities and crafts to help us learn about the early Native-Americans. I'm sure the ideas and content are simplified, but that also makes it easy enough to read and navigate that my almost 6-year-old has gone through it on her own to pick out things that interest her. So far we've made tepees, pueblo houses, vests, peace pipes, a couple of games, and fry bread.

This book is a useful teaching tool. I found quite a few great activities in it to go along with the Native American Unit we are working on. I wouldn't use it as a sole source of information on the topic...but it could be a valuable source of enrichment activity ideas.
