This 5 star rating is a combined rating for this book and the Lord of the Rings Complete Recordings CDs, which are three sets comprising a total of 10 discs. I'd really recommend owning the CDs alongside this book.

I found it quite an interesting read, even if I didn't understand most of the musical terminology. Listening to the soundtrack while reading really helped too.
