This survey of sf is extremely thorough and gave me a great idea of the history of English-language sf. Be ready to learn a lot and end up with a list a mile long of books to check out.

My only complaint was how often I'd have to skip paragraphs to avoid spoilers on books I was planning to read. Would have been nice to have some sort of spoiler indicator especially on newer books.
this is no more and no less than its title: a history, not theory, of science fiction primarily from an Anglo-American pov. so, there are some titles, some politics, of each decade or era.
