Harriet picked My Big Dog by Janet Stevens and Susan Stevens Crummel on a recent trip to the library. She initially chose it for the cute Golden Retriever face on the cover but ended up loving it because it's the story of a cat who doesn't want to learn how to live with a dog.

This is a funny story with hilarious illustrations about a small, slobbery dog who invades a cat's house. This small, slobbery dog is loving, but a pest, and he grows into a big, slobbery dog. And finally the cat, Merl, has had enough. It's a silly tale, but very fun to read aloud. Our girls laughed out loud at their antics

Good story about a cat and the dog who grows on her, now if only my dogs and cat would get along this well. There was no hissing or scratching or barking anywhere in this story, so maybe it isn't too realistic.
