DJ Carter “The Cart-Man” Jackson is a guy we can all relate to. He has a past that he’s made a tenuous peace with, good and faithful friends working with him, and he’s blessed to have a job he loves. Things go awry when a psychopathic killer breaks into the booth during his all-night shift. Now it is up to the DJ and the Killer Queen to survive the night—and survive the revealing of their individual murky and uncomfortable pasts.

The spiritual elements of the book touched me to the core. Rarely h...more

The music rap as the book opens from DJ Carter, The Cart-man is wonderful. Anyone who loves classic rock with enjoy this and be pulled into the book.

When he doesn't lock the back door after taking out the garbage, I was silently saying, "No, no Cart-man. Don't do that. Not a good idea." The story sort of gets the reader right in there and involved.

Disillusioned with hypocritical politicians and religious leaders who are far from practicing what they preach, D.J. Carter “the Cart-Man” Jackson lives for two things: listening to the still, small voice of God and uplifting the souls of his listeners through classic rock n’ roll at his radio station K-I-L-L FM 100. Through these, he’s made peace with his past, or at least thinks he has, until his graveyard shift at the station looks to become just a bit too literal one night. Because Killer Qu...more

What a great book! It’s a thrilling tale of one night of hostage-taking at K-I-L-L FM 100 – a local music station. Disc jockey Carter was a great character to have an “insider’s” look into. Not only his love for music and how he uses it to get through his situation, but also the risks he takes, and how his perspectives on “Killer Queen” (the hostage-taker) changes throughout the story were all just perfect. I really enjoyed the pace of this book. It’s short (only 89 pages) but nothing feels miss...more

I'm not posting a review until everyone in our group has the chance to join in the holiday discussion! Since we are discussing the book, I have decided to post my review...

How does one combine a mix of visual soundtracks, a DJ and a dark-haired vixen by the name, “Killer Queen?” Author, Teric Darken, bleeds the ink from his pen in his first published book, K-I-L-L FM 100, as if he has created a new genre in fiction writing.

From the first chapter to the last, Cart-man, the DJ, spins his records t...more

All right. Really? Five stars all the way through? You betcha!

This is a great book. Fast, easy to read, filled with humor and wit as well as a few tears. I'd have to say my personal favorite is the whole picture of Cart-Man playing the air guitar. "It was only a moment ago that he was riding high on cloud nine, playing air guitar like a madman..." yes. I can see Mr. Darken actually doing this.

I think my favorite character would have to be Killer Queen. Anyone that has been dealt the blows she ha...more

This book was recommended by a friend......and I am glad I got it and read it :-) Total edge of the seat reading, and a short quick book you can read in a day or two. Very believable, and accurate with both characters lives and their pasts. Would recommend you adding this to your "to read" list!
