I didn't like it as much as the others but that's mostly due to the fact that I hated the main character Cassie. She's very selfish and self-centered. She lost her family when she was a teen so her general attitude towards anything and everything is TO HELL WITH EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY. Such an attitude might be really admirable at certain times, but sometimes you just have to mind someone else, especially someone who cares for you, loves you and shows you how much he loves you, as much as Leidolf loves Cassie. That might be because she's such a loner and raised by wild wolves, but hey she certainly interacted with humans during all her years, she can certainly manage to be civilized and show some respect to someone who saves her ass time and time again. She got on my nerves so much that I sometimes wished the killers will just get her and put her out of her misery.

As for Leidolf, I loved him in this book. Even though you sympathize with his sister for him abandoning her and his family in Destiny of the Wolf, but in the books after that you get to know him better while he was helping the main characters in To Tempt the Wolf and Legend of the White Wolf, until you really get to love him in this one.

Regarding the plot, it wasn't as exciting as the previous ones. Nothing more than a couple of encounters with the zoo people and getting stuck in the zoo (not really original since it already happened to Bella in Heart of the Wolf), a wild wolf female with no mate and her pups, the discovery that Cassie's cousin is still alive, and the appearance of Cassie's family's murderers. However, I'm not sure how this last point came about since the murderers have also committed crimes with Alfred before Leidolf took over the pack. My opinion is that Spear wanted to add some interesting twist to her plot when she figured out that it wasn't exciting enough without some sinister going-ons. I have to say it wasn't really successful, it sounded to me like a last minute addition to the events to keep the reader interested, since aiding a wild wolf female will not hold the reader's interest throughout the whole book.(less)

Leidolf Wildhaven is having a time of it trying to right the wrongs of the former leader of his new pack. In the middle of it all, a wolf expert is in town to educate folks about wolves and their lives and habitats and anything else they want to know. He’s drawn to her and wouldn’t mind having a little dalliance with the human woman.

Little does Leidolf know, Cassie Roux is a red wolf just like his alpha self. She’s been packless for a number of years, giving her life over to keeping wolves of all kinds safe from regular folk, including lupus garous. While in the Portland area she spies a female red wolf with pups and is determined to help them. And that’s where all the trouble begins.

Between hunters and the local zoo employees wanting to keep wild animals safe, Cassie, and by extension Leidolf, get caught up in everything that can go wrong when either faction is near.

Cassie is a strong, independent female, but she’s afraid to commit to Leidolf, afraid to lose those she loves again. But Leidolf is total alpha male in either form, powerful and sexy and makes her feel oh so good. And he’s amazed when he finds out Cassie is one of his kind, but he’s also relieved because he wants the woman as his mate. He just needs to convince her of that.

And that’s part of the fun of this book, is watching Leidolf wear Cassie down with a touch, a nudge, a swift kiss. The more he does that, the more she falls under his spell. Doesn’t matter whether they’re human or in wolf form, everything he does is designed to show her she belongs with him. Ms. Spear does a wonderful job of translating wolf idiosyncrasies to human form. The characters are all very consistent in that respect, which makes everything so much more believable.

There’s a scene where Leidolf and Cassie play as wolves on the lake shore. I smiled the whole time. It was such fun. Another scene I enjoyed is when they’re captured and taken to the zoo, along with the lone red wolf and her pups. The employees thought Leidolf belonged with the red female because of her pups, but he took the situation in hand, stood apart from her and stared the men down until they understood he belonged with Cassie. Both terrific scenes.

The sixth book in the series is out in November and I am not waiting to get started on it!

Somehow, when I picked this book up, I missed the fact that there were several books that came previously in the series. When I started reading, it was fairly obvious that I had missed something. The previous stories were mentioned in ways that made it clear they were important to the current characters, but not to be too repetitive for readers who knew the story. While I could follow along just fine it felt like it was missing depth, especially with the characters. Many of the secondary characters all sort of blended together and in my mind were completely interchangeable. There was nothing to make them seem interesting or unique.
I liked how wolf-like the werewolves in this story are, while at the same time being so human. The two very different ways of life are brought together in an intriguing way. The werewolf world she creates is almost realistic. I didn’t like that the women werewolves were essentially prizes- at one point one of the characters basically says, “if you catch her, she’s yours”. Seriously? I also thought the ending was completely inexplicable and tied up things unrealistically quickly, with the reader left wondering what just happened.

This is a pretty solid entry in the werewolf genre. I like TS's werewolf world. This is the second or third one I've read and the world building is staying pretty consistent. I few things happen quicker than they really might in real life but it's pretty minimal. I was excited to get my hands on a new shapeshifter novel! Since Lora Leigh’s Breeds Series is fizzling out for me (so sad), I’m ready to sink my teeth into a new series!

The first requirement I look for in a great series is Stand-Alone Quality. Picking up a book halfway through its series shouldn’t leave me confused. Instead, it should make me want to rush out, or online, to grab up previous works. The second requirement I look for is Remarkable Characterization. Not only should the main characters fall into this category, but the supporting cast better too! To me, those supporting players need to be every bit as great because one of them may be starring in their own book soon! If they are boring with a capital B then I won’t be continuing the series. Sadly, this book fell flat for me on both counts. I found it very difficult to finish. Let me explain why.

The premise is good. Wolf researcher, Cassie, lands in Oregon ready to educate ignorant ranchers on the importance of saving wolves. She is stunned to realize she’s popped up right in the middle of werewolf territory, and has caught the eye of their pack leader. She tries, unsuccessfully, to hide the fact that she’s a fellow werewolf and a royal. Leidolf decides she’ll make a perfect mate. She runs away from him – A LOT – but never leaves town because she’s in search of a mama wolf and her pups.

Sounds good, right? Yeah, I thought so too until I was suddenly thrust into a variety of secondary plots that left my head spinning!

*SPOILERS BELOW*

There’s a lot of running around in the forest where hunters are after them. Cassie’s fellow wolf researcher, Alex, shows up with the insane idea that they are going to get married and be the perfect team. I say insane because from what I read there’s no grounds for Alex to believe such a thing would ever happen, but he’s tracking her through the forest anyway. There are a couple of rogue pack members in the forest. There’s a single father trying like a madman to find a mate. Cassie’s dead cousin, Aimee, isn’t really dead and she’s looking for her in the crowded forest. Someone gets tranquilized – and then another, and another, and another. At one point I wondered how it was possible they weren’t stumbling upon each other at every turn! Then, Cassie and Leidolf have sex – at his cabin in the forest of course – and she’s suddenly deciding she can be his mate if he complies with her wishes, even though she doesn’t trust that he will. It seemed she was more in lust than in love. And there’s more – dinner with the pack at Leidolf’s ranch, a bullet wound, a stolen Jag with a crazy wolf sidekick, a mad dash into (you got it) the forest to flee from the sheriff, twins in love with the same wolf boy, and zoo entrapment just to name a few.

While you could say there’s literally something for everyone in this book, I never found my footing within its pages. If you’re a fan of chaos this is the book for you! If you’re like me, and prefer a more peaceful reading experience, pass this one up.

I enjoyed the book. It was an easy read. Terry Spear has a good foundation for more stories within this werewolf pack. The characters were interesting and could be developed further.

By now we all know who Leidolf Wildhaven is, he is the leader of a new pack and also Lelandi's brother. In this novel we deal with him and Cassie Roux, a biologist that specializes in wolves.

This by far was my favorite of this series. TS finally gave time to "wolf play" having the characters take time as wolves to get to know each other. The was also the most romantic, re: dancing til dawn.
I thought this was the whole series, but, I found book4 that doesn't come in Kindle form, WHY????

Aww so glad that Leildolf got a book.

On the other hand I'm also a little bit annoyed that he got exactly what he wanted in a mate.

I loved that Cassie had lots of little secrets and wanted to do what she loved. I like that throughout the book she was able to stick to her guns in what she wanted, I also thought she was a little bit mixed in her personality and even though at times she was a very strong character I also liked that she was vulnerable in the idea of having a mate.

Another book down in this Heart of the Wolf series. I feel as though Terry Spear does a great job in capturing an audience into the world of these wolves. The books are filled with pages, but makes for a lightweight read. This installment was pretty good and I did enjoy it, but I felt certain aspects of the books could have been better.

So i got this book for my Kindle for 99 cents. I dont typically love the books that I get on special, but im always willing to give them a try. Seduced by the wolf had potential, but fell short for me. As a reader i like to get to know the charachters from what they do,not by being told. Okay this one was hard to get through for me. Majority of the book the characters spend way too much time with their inner thoughts & feelings, which led to very limited interactions with each other. Which made the story seem to drag on forever. Second: All the action was spent way too long in the woods and in wolf form. It felt unbalanced to me. I could only give this book a 4 star rating because of my disappointment in the romance between Cassie and Leidolf. I fell in love with Leidolf, from when he was first introduced in previous books and in this storyline and I couldn’t see him with Cassie, there was a little too much conflict between them. 3.5 I had higher hopes for this book. Maybe it's 'cause I kept getting pulled away from it, but I also skipped some of the sex scenes. Shelves: fantasy-romance

Im new to the Supe romance genre and this was one of the first i came across -- i had jjust brought a new ebook reader so was happy to see they had some cheap and free ones was a great book i loved reading it (ebook) .. was great to see some wolf behaviour too and get an insight into what some are like .. as wolfs and as humans when they shapeshift

only disappointment was i was hoping to see the wedding or at least the engagement of cassie and leidolf .... or at least see what happened If and whe...more

I don't know why I put off reading this since I love all things that shapeshift, but I did. I loved it! There was a lot going on, but it was all good, and kept me turning the pages as quickly as I could. Fiesty heroine, sexy shifters, bad guys, real wolves and werewolves sharing space, and a little mystery along the way. I can't wait to read more of Ms. Spears books!

Good storyline. Liked that it didn't give a long,detailed description when the characters got furry. Those of us that read shifter books, like this one,already make the visual leap in our heads as to what that entails. For myself,too much detail covering the transformation makes me want to skip ahead and find out what happens next.

Shelves: paranoramal

This is my first book by this author. It does stand alone. The only plus is the place and time. It exists, they live in it, there's no huge world building, no woes and wallowing.

But otherwise... it's an boring read. The plot is lacking, the dialogue is dull, the romance... does it exist??

I hate to give up on a book, but that is exactly what I did. This book was free on Kindle and I liked the premise of it, but to me it didn't deliver. So it's just as well it was free!

I love reading about wolves and on the surface all the right ingredients are there, but it just didn't grab me. I struggled on and some parts were gripping, but it wasn't for me on the whole, I'm afraid. I gave up at 51%

Hope other readers get more out of it.
