Some fantasies start with a horror story.

Before Sandy Windham became a faerie hunter, she started life as a lonely history major piled up to her elbows in books, facts, and the names of dead kings. She's the least likely person to believe in faeries.

That's why she's caught the eye of Haun, a wicked faerie who's been put to an interesting challenge: Get a banal girl to marr

This book was a complete surprise! The first time that Lindsey introduced me to her book I was delighted and intrigued. I love anything magical, and this book has become one of my great novella reads for this year. :) Great book to end my week.

The idea of a fae to convince a human to marry him out of a bet was genius. If you read the first part of the book, it starts slow but after reading 10 pages or more you will instantly get hooked. The second thing I love about the book is the rhymes. I am

This book took me much longer than it should have to read. I kept picking it up and putting it down. I just wasn’t finding much to pull me from one page to the next. The characters seemed flat to me and the plotting was a little slow until they got into Haun’s house. I was also frustrated with some of Sandy and Jina’s behaviors that didn’t make sense to me. One was the whole secret admirer thing. Haun’s version of wooing isn’t quite what you might expect. It seemed creepy
I got off to a bit of a slow start feeling like my introduction to Lindsey's fae-universe was a bit fast and jolting with a hint of childish immaturity. About 20% of the way through I realized I was hooked and finished the book on the plane last night (kindle for android). The richly imagined, reality-bending home of S.A. had me rushing through the pages to see what would happen next as the surreal surroundings entranced me just as S.A. seeks to entrance his prey. A sequel is hinted at and I can ...more

I picked up and put down this book multiple times, sure that I wouldn't finish reading it. It's not very well written and I felt that the characters were inconsistent in their actions and thoughts. But, I did finish it! I wanted to know how it all panned out so in the end, kept reading.

The second book is supposed to be much better but I have to read this one first.
