The Deadlands are a hard unforgiving territory, filled with terrifying creatures eager to prey on anything softer and weaker than they are. Amethyst's sister Pearl was last seen heading into the Deadlands with her new fiancé, a religious zealot intent on starting a personal settlement with a caravan of his believers there. Weeks later, no one's heard from the caravan or Pearl, so Amethyst's mounted her own, fairly pitiful search party - three of her friends from home who wouldn't let her travel More...

Deadlands hunt is a very sweet story. Amethyst's sister has been missing for 7 weeks, so she decides to go to the town where she last heard of her. Arriving in Adersol she quickly learns her sister has left for the Deadlands, and Amy realizes nor she nor anyone in her company is qualified to get them trough the Deadlands alive. So she turns to Chase and his pack of Weren.

Fighting prejudices, annoying company and orcs Chase and Amethyst slowly fall in love, but is love enough to overcom More...

I've been needing to dive back into something meant for grown ups after a steady diet of YA and this was just the ticket. It's a fast, action packed romp that's very...Firefly meets Tolkein meets [insert your favorite western movie]. I've definitely never read anything quite like it. The heroine, Amethyst, has a spine of steel, and of course I've always got a soft spot for sexy alpha werewolves--Chase doesn't fail to deliver. All in all, a fun read.

I had the pleasure of reading this fresh off the press and true to my nature I was skeptical of the whole romance parts of the entire thing, but G.L. really balances out the whole he said/she said lovey-dovey with doses of pure action. I love Chase, her main character dude, and Amethyst doesn't ring out as a spineless taffeta-wearing wimp of a woman. It's like being caught up in Red Dead Redemption, only the characters are far better at dialogue.
