I've read 2 of Isenberg's books. When i was reading them i felt as tho i could fit right in w/ her and her 2 cohorts in crime solving. Maybe it's because she teaches in a community college and i've been a teacher all of my life. Maybe it's because her stories are set in north Jersey, an area i am familiar with. Maybe it's because she is a woman of a certain age w/ grown children. Her characters feel real to me. In what other book do you read about post-menopausal incontinence? ...more

Another excellent Bel Barrett mystery. I love this feisty middle-aged professor-come-sleuth, and the stories she shares about real people. Her wedding plans get hijacked when one of her mature students seeks help finding how her father died.

The ultimate downer - I just didn't care and so read my obligatory pages and then tossed it aside. I just can't relate to a late middle age, east coast, jewish divorcee in the midst of a murder and planning her wedding...
