Also on any given day this collision of an individual's emotional profile with the events generated by a turbulent world can result in a good person doing very bad things and a very smart person doing very stupid things.

Jim Sheridan was drafted into a war that he had no ability to influence, but it drastically influenced who he was to become. As a legal scholar he used the power of the law to confront those who did physical and emotional harm to others. But the greatest challenge of his life came when the law became the ally of the financial engineering alchemists of Wall Street. Without an ounce of brut force they did more harm to more people than an army of thugs. Though an honest and honorable person, he faced the conundrum of whether to right a wrong by acting outside the law or allow the guilty to walk away from their deeds.

This is a story as current as the front-page articles in the Wall Street Journal. As billions of dollars are poured from the Treasury into the industry that caused the financial disaster that we all collectively face today, do the alchemists who orchestrated this disaster just walk away with their treasure? The legal system seems to say yes, but retribution does not necessarily have to fall under the legal system nor does everyone feel the need to operate within the confines of the law.
