Saving Childhood: Protecting Our Children from the National Assault on Innocence
"Saving Childhood" offers parents and grandparents practical strategies to cope with a society that seems perversely determined to frighten and corrupt its young. Cultural critic and popular radio host Michael Medved and his wife, psychologist Diane Medved, argue that in a mistaken effort to curb problems plaguing its youth, our culture has changed from protectin

I'm not quite sure how to rate this book because I had very different feelings about it at different points in the book.
What I liked about it:
*I was fascinated by the Medved's home life as they described it. They are Orthodox Jews and I was really impressed with their religious observances and how openly they described them in the book.
*It really made me think about the things I talk about around my children. They make a case that the news erodes our children's innocence (t...more

Although not a new book, this is SO GOOD! I passionately believe in trying to preserve children's innocence, so I am eager to get to the part of the book where he gives ideas on how to help preserve it.
I read this book when my kids were young and it really influenced the way I let them use media. An excellent book.
Rather right wing, but the authors did have some good points.
I have a signed copy. WAY to technical and a SLOW READ! Great subject but could have been written much better!!
Has some good advice, but the authors lean too heavily on hyperboles.
