This book is responsible for the summer I had where muffins were constantly on the counter. I tested many of the recipes, and still have more marked. The blueberry muffins, lemonade muffins, and applesauce muffins I have made over and over with great success. The corn muffins my family won't let me live down, although maybe I could try them with more honey... This is one of those books that you just love. Savory and sweet muffins abound in this book. Each muffin has listed variations and suggestions for toppings and yes, Virginia, there are even gluten-free recipes in the book. The only problem I have with this book in some of the measurements. One recipe that comes to mind, called for 6 oz. of butterscotch chips and then said in parentheses, 1 cup. 6 oz. is NOT a cup, but 3/4 c. 8 oz. is a cup. I got on a muffin kick this year, dispensing them like mad to everyone I know. So I was very excited when I found this book on the library shelf. Some of the recipes are quite good (Banana nut), but others like the Sour Cream Chocolate Chip are dry. A word of advice: try the recipe out before making a batch as gifts. Not all are winners!
