Inside, she's fighting a desperate battle to save her son and escape the vicious cold of the PsyNet. Yet when escape comes, it leads not to safety, but to t ...more

I've been waiting for Dorian's story since he first stole my heart in Slave to Sensation, the first book in this series. Boy, do I have a MASSIVE crush on him, and have from the beginning. His book was every bit as good, if not better, than I thought it would be. And the epilogue…OMG!!! It was freaking AMAZING! The best ending in the series thus far! On to the next book...

If you haven't already noticed, I think I'm having a love affair with this series. LOL

Time to catch up on my reviews for this series…
“I heard the sniper’s voice against my ear when I woke today. He whispered sensual promises so savage, I can hardly believe these thoughts come from some corner of my own psyche. And yet they must. Because, at the end, he called me prey.

And told me to run.

- From the encrypted personal files of Ashaya Aleine”
Now why does that give me a delicious shiver?! Because it’s DORIAN!! *sighs and swoons

Wow. This series just keeps getting better and better Photobucket Best book so far, loved it!

Ashaya appeared in the last book, and I was crazy to find out what happened to her. This book is her story, what a mother would do to protect her child, and a terrible choice she must make regarding her psycho twin sister. She's the best developed female character so far. I really loved her. And wow what a spine she has Photobucket she's incredibly strong as a person, having broken Silence many years ago, she had to act em
5 stars – Paranormal Romance

Whew, the Psy-Changeling series just keeps getting impossibly better and better and continues to impress and amaze me! Although Caressed by Ice is still my favorite so far, Mine to Possess and Hostage to Pleasure are tied close for second place. Singh has created such a unique and fascinating futuristic universe with the conflict between the emotionless, cold, psychically powerful Psy race and the Changelings (shifters that are both human and animal) at its center. 5 Ginormous Stars!!! Dorian...bite with me...I'll be a hostage to your pleasure any day!!! RAWRRRRR!!

Hot damn was this good!!

I feel like I finally found my footing in this series. What I mean by that is, it's such a complex story with amazingly well developed characters, that it takes a while to get a real feel for what's going on. Who is with who, how they came to be, where they are now, how it all connects, and now I'm on solid ground!

From beginning to end this book was brilliant.
Dear Caressed by Ice,

You know that I love you. I truly do. You were my favorite for a while, especially compared to Mine to Possess. Alas, I must ask you to step aside. I have been caught up in a brilliant love affair the past two days with Hostage to Pleasure. At the close of this love affair, I find that I do not want it to end. Therefore, Hostage to Pleasure is now my favorite book of this series, with you as my very close second. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Lovers You,

This book was fantastic. I thought that this series would get less interesting as it continued, but it seems to get even more intriguing. I loved the hero Dorian. He is full of contrasts: ice cold, but hot, violent but controlled, and deeply sensual. He is unable to change into a leopard, which he has mostly made peace with. Instead he has honed his skills as such a formidable warrior, that being unable to shapeshift is not a liability. However, being unable to shifts makes him no less in touch ...more

“Shaya” - as Dorian calls her - has pale blue-gray eyes; so, this is when she is wearing her dark contacts.

& a Whoa! (This is a review of the audiobook.) Angela Dawe does an excellent job of reading this powerhouse episode in Nalini Singh’s fifth installment of the Psy-Changeling series. There is a reason she is up for an “Audie Award” for an another audiobook this year.* She makes Dorian sound not only filled with possessiveness, but suitably c

As tempting and satisfying as Belgian chocolate! “Hostage to Pleasure” by Nalini Singh is the fabulous fifth book in her Psy-Changeling world and it’s oh so worth the cost and the time to visit there. She rachets up the suspense and the heat in equal portions and I couldn’t put the darn book down once I picked it up. This book is easily read on its own, but if you’ve been following the series you need to MOVE, RIGHT NOW and go get this book. It r
Oooooh, I've been waiting for this book because Dorian has been one of my favorite males in this series. (Hawke is number one). Let's see, he has blonde hair, blue eyes, and is beautiful. I wonder why that attracts my attention...??

I know what you all are thinking. Oh, brother, here goes Jilly on another one of her "Chris Hemsworth is the perfect specimen of man" tangents. Gee, give me a break! There are plenty of other gorgeous blonde men out there that are (almost) as beautiful. I'm not that

I am in love with this series. Seriously. I never thought I could love a series that much after having read so many different series but, here it is. I love everything about these books, the universe, the writing style, the characters: all different and interesting, the plot... each book is fascinating and I can barely wait to read the next one.

Hostage to Pleasure is Dorian's story and let me tell you, I have been *impatient

Nalini Singh drives me a little nuts. Every one of the Psy-Changeling books I've read has made me so frustrated in the first half and then made me love it in the second. I swear, it's at 50% in each book that things pick up.

In Hostage to Pleasure we get the story of two characters we've met in earlier books. Dorian, the latent leopard changeling, has been around since he wanted to rip out Sascha's throat in the first book. Ashaya was introduced in the last book -- Mine to Possess -- although I t

So I have a little bit of a Dorian crush, I love myself an emotionally damaged overachiever, I can't help myself. So on that note I felt it necessary to cast him.

Hostage to Pleasure is the fifth book in the Psy-Changeling series and Dorian has been one of my favourite DarkRiver sentinels from the very start!

He’s latent, which means he can’t shift and although many see it as a disadvantage, Dorian doesn’t let that hinder his determination and protectiveness over Pack. He makes up for it with his sniper abilities and sharp mind. I loved his charm in Mine to Possess so I was very excited to read his story. Instead, Dorian was very angry and tense for most

The 5th book in Nalini Singh’s incredible Psy/Changeling Series, continues the world-building of the new societies that threaten world peace.

Dorian Christensen is a sentinel and sniper in the DarkRiver pack and struggles with his uniqueness of being a latent leopard changeling…..he is unable to shift into his animal form. He has an undying hatred for the Psy, after the terrible loss at their hands and when he’s asked to help kidnap a PSY child, he finds himself at a crossroad.

Dorian's book at last! I have been wanting to read his from the very beginning. And I wasn't disappointed I loved it! Dorian was intense yet charming with just a pinch of angst, the perfect ingredients for a hot alpha hero.

I also really liked Ashaya, she was in the previous book as the scientist who helped Jon and Noor be freed from being experimented on by a psychopath. But now she wants to collect her IOU from the DarkRiver pack when she asks them to save her son. Ashaya was different from th

I loved this one! I enjoyed the previous books enough to slowly continue with this series when I was in the mood, but I honestly never understood the fan crazy fascination with this series until now. This one really made me a believer.

Dorian and Ashaya started off as opposite as could be. She is a cold non-feeling psy, and he is a hot tempered changeling with a blinding hate for her race. He fought his attraction, but as Ashaya broke away from her silence and started showing human emotions, he
Hostage To Pleasure starts right where Mine To Possess left off. The DarkRiver clan has paid off it's debt to Ashaya Aleine and have kidnapped her son and hidden him away in their Pack. With her son safe, Ashaya also manages to escape the Council's sphere but her contact had to abandon her in lynx territory. Surrounded by the vicious animals, DarkRiver sniper Dorian Christensen comes to her rescue, drawn to the smell of her blood and the unmistakable scent of her exotic femininity. The scent tha ...more
Holy shit this book was fantastic!!! Dorian & Ashaya were amazing together!! Loved every second of this book<3
Now I just have no idea why I remembered so little about this book because it's definitely one of the bests! It may have not been as good as books 1,3 and 6 but definitely the best after those. If I have a thing to say about the books I have re-read so far it's that I do love the psy-changeling pairings, they are so amazing. While as a general rule I adore reading about changelings, I miss the psy when they don't have an important role in one of the books. There's just something so amazing about ...more

Another favorite!

All the books are linked together by the general plot but this one kind of started in Mine to Possess. In this story we have another Psy-Changeling couple, Ashaya and Dorian.

We met Ashaya in Mine to possess. She’s a M-psy specialisized in DNA and she’s the best in her field. Because of that s

Loved it! This did not seem quite a 5* book as I was reading it, but by the time I got to the end I couldn't remember why! There's lots of conflict in this book - between the main characters and between the races. Dorian and Ashaya had lots of issues to deal with before they could accept their attraction and growing feelings for each other. Dorian has to deal with his rage and hate for all-things-Psy because of the brutal murder of his younger sister by a Psy sociopath; Ashaya has to deal with t ...more
Hostage to Pleasure (Psy-Changeling Series #5) I absolutely adored this book and now believe there to be tie between this and Caressed By Ice as my favorite book in this series (so far).Once again the author's talent shines through the characters (new and past), their interactions and relationships, the story, the plot, and the wonderful continuation of the series' common theme.

I loved both Dorian and Ashaya and their slow development and growth as they came to terms with their attraction and fe
Can someone explain how a series as good as this with psychics, werewolves and sci-fi excitement carries porn worthy cheese covers like "Hostage to Pleasure"?

Whenever rating a book, one must take into consideration the genre and what the author is trying to accomplish. For example if it's light, humorous romance, how well did the author succeed in making us laugh while telling a good and believable story? In the genre of futuristic, paranormal romance, Nalini Singh comes as close to perfe
If I could rate this 3 1/2 stars....I would.

I stopped reading this series after Mine to Possess. The Psy portion of the story line was too sci-fi and, for me, too hard to follow. I especially struggled with the Psy story line when it involved the female lead as the Psy character. Judd's book, Caressed by Ice, was easier for me to swallow. I guess I like me female leads to be ....emotional.

With Kiss of Snow now out, I decided to try this series again. I've been interested in Hawke's story since

Wow! What a great 5th installment in the Psy-Changelings series by Nalini Singh! Lots of action, adventure, romance and passion!

Ashaya is an m-psy. Her specialty is medical with an emphasis on DNA. We met her in the previous book as the woman who helped rescue the 2 kids from the psy medical facility. Dorian, a changeling leopard who was the head sniper on that rescue hasnt been able to get Ashaya off his mind for months. When Ashaya fakes her own death in attempt to escape from the psy council
Hmm, this series is pretty intense, very serious about everything. I guess I wish there was more levity in it and bit more comic relief, because I'm getting bummed out even as I'm enjoying myself. Weird.

As for the story, I liked it but at times it got way too sappy for my taste. Ashaya's transition from cold to hot-blooded Psy was too sudden and their mating was basically a drawn out case of insta love. But there was plenty of action and intrigue to make up for it.

I think this is my favorite of the series! Dorian was sexy, protective, aggressive, caring, and did I mention sexy? And while Dorian was all those things, I liked Ashaya just as much. She's been my favorite Psy so far. Of course, that could be because (view spoiler)

For anyone who's been reading my reviews about this series, you know I love the underlying story of the Rebellion that is starting in the Psy. Once again,

This book makes me so happy! It has everything I usually love in this genre - and then some! All the action, all the feels, all the smart plots and characters... *happy sigh*

I had my worries and my misgivings when I got an idea of the plot and who was going to be Dorian's mate (I mean, an M-Psy, so connected to the evil circle? *shudders*), but they disappeared from the first few pages in. Such a pleasant surprise! I love watching Psy break under the power and passion of the changelings. The sus

FABULOUS!!!! This book was just amazing!!! Dorian has been a huge interest of mine for a long time, so I was tickled pink when I finished the last book and then found out that the next was about him! HUZZAH!!!! And for as intrigued by him as I was, I am VERY happy to report that he did NOT disappoint!! ~~swoon~~

“She got to me."

"It happens to the best of us."

"Yeah? Who gets to you?" He was so strong that sometimes she worried. Everyone needed to bend a little, even a panther responsible for the lives of his entire pack.

"That damn wolf. He sent you a present last week."

Sascha smiled at the thought of Hawke's flirting. The SnowDancer alpha did it only to jerk Lucas's chain. "I never saw any present. What was it?"

"How the hell should I know? I stomped on it and threw it into the deepest crevice I could find." He smirked. "Then I called him to ask how Sienna was doing."

She burst out laughing. "Wicked, wicked man.”
“When you want something so bad it hurts,” he said quietly, “and you bury it, bury it so deep that you convince yourself it no longer matters . . . and someone tells you you can have it, it's terrifying. What if you take the chance and you're wrong? What if you let yourself feel the loss and it's this huge pain and you can't put it back in the box?” 67 likes
