"Solve the Mystery"

This is a solve-it-yourself mystery. It is very interesting for young teens and provides hints in pictures along the way to challenge the reader to solve the mystery. There's a big storm looming over the small town just before Christmas when Meg's brother, Peter, has lost an important family heirloom...somewhere along Main Street. Meg loves a mystery and she'll solve it. Will you solve it before Meg does? This is short and a fun experience. Give it a try ... I liked it!

Recommends it for: parents reading with their children

I love that Meg's brother gives her a lot of credit for her mystery-solving ability. That attitude has slowly changed over the course of the series.

We love this series - our local library only has the first five books, so

Lucinda Landon lives in Foster, Rhode Island, with her husband, photographer Jim Egan, their sons, Alexander and Eric, and several pets. Their home was built in 1709 and has a hidden trap door to the basement and a secret hiding place behind the chimney. “It’s a great place to write mysteries,” says Ms. Landon, who is always working on the plot of a new one.
