The Wolf, The Witch, and her Lack of Wardrobe by Shelly Laurenston- 3 stars I'm not sure about this one. I think the plot was great, but I had a hard time liking the heroine, and the hero could have been interchanged with any other hero out there, there really wasn't much to him, which is unusual for Laurenston. I didn't see her trademark sense of humor in here as much either. The plot saved me from the characters.

In the Dark by Cynthia Eden- 4 stars I really loved this one, and I didn't expect...more

Belong to the Night is an anthology of sexy paranormal stories.

"The Wolf, the Witch and Her Lack of Wardrobe", by Shelly Laurenston, is a peek into life in Smithville, a southern town of Shifters, run of course, by the Smith wolf pack. Here the mayor of Smithville, Tully Smith, becomes smitten by one of the new witches in town. But Jaime has some problems of her own. - Not as fun as some of Laurenston's other books, but good nonetheless. Familiar names pop up here and there, and it is amazing ho...more

Only read the first two thus far but both I liked- especially Shelly Laurenston's entry of course. ;)

Not much for anthos myself, but since Eden & Laurenston rarely miss for me, I got this one. Get it if you need a short shifter story with a little steam!

Shelly's story is Tully Smith's story, The Wolf, The Witch, and Her Lack of Wardrobe (Loosely connected of her Pride series- one of my favorites!). He's the alpha of the Smithville Pack and in him Jaimie Meacham has met her match- literally...more

Belong to the Night by Shelly Laurenston, Cynthia Eden and Sherrill Quinn.

This was one of those books I picked up simply because three of my favorite para-romance authors were behind it. These three together…wow, I’m sold. I don’t have to read the back, I certainly don’t have to sprawl out in the aisle of Borders and read other reviews…no thank you. I already know how much I will love it. I can honestly say, I definitely wasn’t let down this time. This book is awesome! It’s a fast read with thre...more

Going to do this as I read each individual story...

I started with the Shelly Laurenston entry. It was ok. Not great, not bad. I loved Tully, his family, and the townsfolk. Decent storyline after it got going, too. Jamie, the heroine, annoyed me for most of the story, however. She was anti-social, snotty, and power-hungry, but we never find out why. It is only in the last quarter of the story that she develops any sort of personality. Some of her coven seem to have potential, but she was a bit of...more

The first story in this book is a novella by Shelly Laurenston that is the second story in the long Island Coven series. It takes place in the Smithville of North Carolina, which has a wide variety of shifter residents. The heroine in unabashedly antisocial and power-hungry. The hero is a lot more than he seems. It takes meddling by elders, a mother, and an evil father to bring them together. There is plenty of action, sarcasm, fighting, magic, hysterical shifter dynamics, and also some sex (of...more

Belong to the night is an anthology containing stories by Shelly Laurenston, Cynthia Eden and Sherrill Quinn.

The first story and the reason that I bought the book is The Wolf, The Witch and Her Lack of Wardrobe, the second in the Long Island Coven series. The first can be found in the Sun, Sand, Sex anthology that I reviewed last month.

Time has passed and it is now six months further on and Jamie's coven has settled quite nicely in town and in addition to running the hotel has enmeshed themselve...more

I bought this primarily for Shelly Laurenston's story because I love all of her shifter stuff so much. All three stories were great. Shelly's had her usual witty banter, action and romance. I loved it. The next two stories were fast paced and steamy. Wow. Knock your socks off-- need a fan-- steamy. In the Dark by Cynthia Eden is a story about a shifter cop who discovers her dead boyfriend, also a cop, isn't really dead. It's fast paced, rather dark, romantic, sexy and action packed. The last sto...more

Multiauthor anthology - one outstanding, one good, and one OK read.

The Wolf, The Witch, and Her Lack of Wardrobe by Shelly Laurenston: This is directly connected to her The Long Island Coven series [Sun, Sand, Sex Anthology-"My Kind of Town":] and indirectly to her Pack and Pride books. It is hysterically funny and the hero brings ambling to the level of art. Somehow you never think of Pack Alphas as amblers... Rating 5

Anthology

1. The Wolf, The Witch and Her Lack of Wardrobe by Shelly Laurenston. This takes place in Smithville after the coven has been in place for about 10 months. Jamie is working on getting more power and Tully is trying to figure out what she's doing. His father comes to town to make trouble and they both work to stop him. Very sweet, funny story. I really love Shelly Laurenston's books/stories. 4 stars.

2. In the Dark by Cynthia Eden. Sadie runs into her ex-lover Liam who is supposed to be a...more

I bought this one from Kobo at a deep discount.

I adore Shelly Laurenston'a shifter stories. They are always fast-paced, funny and sexy. I bought this anthology because it featured a Pack story I hadn't read yet. It lived up to my expectations. I loves that it was the heroine who was reluctant to form any attachments, not the hero, as it so often is in romance-land. I give this story of Jamie and Tully 4 stars.

The second story is by Cynthia Eden. I enjoyed this one as well. Very strong, tough h...more

The Wolf, The Witch, and her lack of Wardrobe - Shelly Laurenston. 2 stars. The heroine is so self-involved and unlikeable I almost didn't finish the story, and having finished, I can't say I am impressed. The hero is a laid-back good-old-boy type, who turns out to be highly educated. I felt like I was reading some kind of print version of a Hallmark Special with shifters and witches.
In the Dark - Cynthia Eden. 3 stars. Actually had a case to solve, characters seemed more complex than the others...more

3.5 stars. These stories didn't just grab me in and keep me. In fact, the last one I skimmed for the 'good parts'....so I can't speak to how good the story is. I just didn't feel compelled to read it. I am also not especially partial to witch stories so that could be involved. I think paranormal stories are hard to do in novella form because it involves an alternate reality...and if the author spends enough time forming that reality, then the character interactions suffer. And if they focus on t...more

"In the Dark" by Cynthia Eden was a fun story about an FBI shifter who sees a boyfriend in a bar who she thinks died 2 years ago so of course she is pissed. Liam was ambushed in his last mission 2 years ago turning him into the undead vamp. Now they must work through the past and find a rouge shifter killing woman. I liked this short story, it had it all.

"The Wolf, the Witch, and Her Lack of Wardrobe" by Shelly Laurenston was a great story. Tully, the wolf, Jamie, the Witch, and the Lack of ward...more

Only read The Wolf, The Witch, and her lack of Wardrobe by Laurenston. This one is about Tully Smith (wolf) & Jamie Meacham (witch). It takes place in Smithville. Plenty of laughs, some action & a little sex. For a short story (about 150 pages) it has plenty of everything. Tully's birth dad, Buck, comes back to town & causes trouble. His girlfriend is a witch & he wants to take over with her help. When that doesn't work, he tries taking Jamie by force. In the end he gets his, &...more

I only read the Cynthia Eden and Shelly Laurenston contributions to this anthology so the review will be only for those novellas. Overall I have to say that I wasn't that impressed with the stories though.

The Wolf, The Witch, and Her Lack of Clothing by Shelly Laurenston was about Coven Witch Jaime and the wolf Mayor of Smithville, Tully. I can't really put my finger on this one, something just didn't click for me. Jaime was very closed off and Tully was too laid back. They had good chemistry t...more

"The Wolf, The Witch, and Her Lack of Wardrobe" by Shelly Laurenston - 3 stars

I love the shifter world that Laurenston created with her Magnus Pack series, and this story fits nicely into that world. The setting is a small town of shifters in the South that has co-existed with a witch coven for generations, offering mutual protection to each other. I loved the character of Tully, wolf-shifting, laid-back mayor of the town who gets a feel for the town's issues by walking everywhere. Jamie, the he...more

Really 3.5 *

I enjoyed this anthology, though there was nothing outstanding therefore the lack of stars.

Shelly Laurenston's tale of Tully Smith, pack alpha and mayor of Smithville meeting and slowly falling in love with his witch Jamie Meacham, who didn't want a bloke at all, was pretty good. 4* though not as good as usual.

Cynthia Eden's In The Dark was 3 stars - Leopard shifter, Sadie James, working in a covert unit of the FBI thinks her lover and former partner died 2 years ago. He didn't. He...more

In Anthology: 'Belong to the Night' by Shelly Laurenston, Cynthia Eden, and Sherrill Quinn.

Story: 'The Wolf, the Witch, and Her Lack of Wardrobe'

Main characters: Wolf-shifter Tully Smith and witch Jamie Meacham.

A cute little story about the Smithville shifters and their new witch coven protectors.

Have not read the other two stories in 'Belong to the Night' because they don't interest me from the descriptions, even though I have read most of Cynthia Eden's work. I may revisit them later.
Amanda
Of course I loved the Shelly Laurenston novella the most, but the other two were great! Sherrill Quinn is new to me, so I'll definitely be checking out more of her books! Surprisingly my least favorite was the Cynthia Eden part, but I would still give it about 3 1/2 stars. Now I need to find the other Long Island Coven books!!!

I love Shelly Laurenston. The wolf, the witch, and her lack of wardrobe is a short story, but still a good one. In it, she mentions names characters from her Magnus Pack series. It's lightly tied in to them. This book is funny, making me laugh aloud more than once, it's also has some steamy scenes though not overly so. Good read.
Samantha
Laurenston's story was about 50% of the book according to my kindle. It was good, classic stuff that you can expect from a Shelly Laurenston shifter book.

Sadly, Eden's story bored the hell out of me. I was entertained for the first bit, but then the story started to just drag on and on.

Didn't read the third short story.

This is a fun book full of great sexy short stories. If you are looking for a quick fun read pick it up. Loved the Shelly Laurenston story, she puts the fun in dysfuntional. The women seem to fight just as much as the men, making her stories a riot to read.
Dawn ♥ romance
I only read Shelly Laurenston's steamy story which was good but I like her other books are better. It didn't have quite as much humor and witches weren't as appealing as shifters. Wolf shifter Tully notices Jamie working on her supernatural abilities.
Jessica Wimberly
I only read the first story.
The Wolf, the Witch and her lack of wardwobe.

I liked the story it was nice and sweet. Shelly Laurenston yet again makes a female character that doesn't take crap from no one and doesn't back down from a fight.
Marina
A 3 in 1 anthology. Three short stories in one book by three different authors. They are Shelly Laurenston, Cynthia Eden, and Sherrill Quinn.

Shelly Laurenston's story was a blast to read. I really hope there are more stories with those characters. I will be sure to email the author and ask that.
Anita
The first story by Shelly Laurenston was the reason I bought this book and the only reason to read this anthology, in my opinion. I laughed out loud at least once, which is why I'm such a HUGE fan of Ms. Laurenston. It's the story of wolf-shifter Tully Smith, who lives in a Carolina Smithville, and witch Jamie Meacham, who's the leader of the local coven. Tully is the mayor and when his good-for-nothing father shows up in town, he and Jamie take the SOB on. And also end up in bed. It's a lot lik...more

The first story by Shelly was funny because Tully's Smithtown was a Southern lot of folks. And the way they talked was funny in it self. I got a kick out of this story. Worth the read. The other two story were good too.
