Shelves: mesopotamia
Really good for a potentially dry subject. Loved all the photos. This book was definitely helpful for my girls learning about the cradle of civilization. I caught my 5 year old chanting as she was walking through the house, "MesopoTAMia, MesopoTAMia!"

This tiny little book is packed with lots of amazing facts about Mesopotamia. In addition to the typical nonfiction text features you'd expect, it has some commentary inserted on each page that makes you smile or gives you additional insight about the facts. I thought that was something that kept me reading.
This book was not on a 6th graders level...better for a younger reader. But the information was easy to understand and might be a good starter.
I like the map in this book. I like the resource page as well. It is a short easy book for grade school.

Recommends it for: parents reading with their children
This is a short, but interesting book about the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia. There are several short topics covered and nearly 5000 years are covered. There are a lot of big, colorful illustrations and enough details to provide a lot of information without being overly detailed or boring. I thought it was a very interesting book and we really enjoyed reading it together.
