I read this to Julia the other night before bed because even though it's a S-I-R she's not to this level yet. I thought it would take a night or two to get through but I was wrong - we finished it in one sitting, mainly because of how interested Julia was in the story and Helen Keller herself.
I'm ashamed to say I only knew the basics of Keller's life and there was quite a bit of info given here that I either never learned or couldn't remember.

This book is about Helen Keller. Helen Keller was like any other baby for almost 2 years. Then she got a very bad illness. After she recovered her mother went to her bedroom and waved and Helen didn't even blink. Then she waved closer to her face and she still didn't blink. Helen Keller accomplished great things even though she had many problems. I liked this book because it taught me to have courage even though things can be really hard at times.
