This series is a wonderful one for kids. The Hitchcock character only does what amounts to cameos, and sometimes, if I remember correctly, doesn't even show up at all. The ones about the Mexican bandit and the Spider stand out in my mind and I remember them quite well. Overall, they were all fun to read.

This book is part of the Three Investigators series. I loved this series as a child and while some of the language reflects a different time period, the story itself continues to be entertaining and fun for kids. The Three Investigators--Jupiter Jones, Pete Crenshaw, and Bob Andrews--take on a new case when a ghost begins to appear around an old mansion in town. The story revolves around the boys' attempt to discover whether the ghost is real or not. This book is a delightful book that child

A book that holds special significance for me. I checked it out of the library when I was in the first grade and got my father to read it to me. I can still remember sitting in the floor by the couching listening to him and putting pictures together in my mind. I would cite this as the book that started my lifelong love of reading, particularly of horror and mystery fiction. The Three Investigators became my favorite book series for several years afteward. They were far superior to The Hardy

This was the first one of this series that I read. Just found out that there are 43 books in the original series. Really enjoyed this little mystery.
A green ghost is seen in a haunted mansion by the three investigator's. Upon investigation the three find a hidden room with a long dead body, and a string of expensive and interesting Chinese pearls. I won't tell you how it finally ends. I will just say the ghost is of course not real... or is it?

Yet another of my favorite "boy" books, since I was hurting for girl books that didn't involve boy crazy teens or simpering.
Honestly, by today's standards, a little racist in some depictions, but could be useful as a teaching tool for "This is how people thought before they knew any better."

Never read any of these before, but they kind of remind me of Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys. The Three Investigators, Bob Anderson, Pete Crenshaw, and Jupiter Jones take on a new mystery when they hear an eerie scream outside of a haunted mansion and see the appearance of a green ghost.

Really, this entire series was amazing. This was my favorite book series when I was a kid. This is book #4, and since you can't post entire series, I just posted the first book of the series I read. It hooked me, and Alfred Hitchcock being in the books was pretty swift, too.

I loved these books when I was a kid. I was never into Nancy Drew or the The Hardy Boys. The Three Investigators series was it for me. I still like them as much now as I did then. I wish I owned the whole series.

I remember this as being my clear favorite of all the Three Investigators books that I read. Definitely had its fair share of racist depictions, but the mystery was solid and it had a satisfying conclusion.

Reread one of my favorite series, this time in its original version. It's funny to see how Jupiter Jones really is, to read from the way he says things, smart as how he is.

I loved these books when I was in elementary school. They were fun mysteries. I didn't know they were still around.

The cover og the book helped hook me and the story is creepy and thrilling. This one of the best of the long-running series.

Still have my old paperback RIF copy of this one. Jupiter Jones and crew were some of my favorite sleuths in elementary school, right alongside Nancy Drew. These stories were my first introduction to Alfred Hitchcock and his "cameos" in the books were a great segue into watching the classic Hitchcock movies. Cool. Way cool.

The Three Investigators mysteries were like a slightly more mature version of Scooby Doo. I know I read a bunch of these books when I was young, but this is the only one that I specifically remember. They were quite entertaining (though I think I preferred the Hardy Boys), but they struck me as a bit dated even as a child (I read them in the 70s).

2,5 bintang. :D

Bacaan waktu SD. Paling ngeri dibanding cerita Trio Detektif yg lain. Malah sempat ngecek kebelakang takut tiba2 ada yg 'nongol' pas lagi baca :D
Tp setelah baca beberapa buku Trio Detektif, jd tau kalo si Jupe pasti bisa menemukan alasan 'masuk akal' untuk semua yg 'tidak masuk akal'

I loved the Three Investigators series as a kid and got a handful of them off eBay a few years ago in a fit of nostalgia. They're not the best things ever written by a long shot, but this one, at least, was still an enjoyable read as an adult.

This book is great.
I mean, when you read this book, you can feel the mysterious from that ghost.
And I still love Jupe, Pete & Bob until now!

Re-read this book to my daughter. We loved it. First time I read it was back in the mid-70s
