I was born back in the 60's and when I was growing up The Peanuts were big. I have two stuff Snoopys' that are almost as old as I am. I couldn't get rid of them. My heart just melts every time I see them in my bedroom. So, when I received the opportunity to review this book, I jumped!
On October 2, 1950, the first Peanuts cartoon ran. This collection is a celebration of the 60 year anniversary. This book delivers what it promises, 'Treasures from the world's most beloved comic st More...

This is one of my favorite picture books for so many reasons, the first being nostalgia. I have loved Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Schroeder my whole life plus the rest of the gang too, so seeing this book immediately appealed to my curiosity. I didn't think there was much I could learn about it, and after reading it I was very wrong.
I learned a lot not only about the comic strip and its characters, but about the man who drew it all, Mr. Schultz. He was very comedic in his natural way, and jus More...

The comic strip Peanuts ran for almost 50 years in 2,600 newspapers, a record number. During those years 18,000 strips were published. When Charles Schultz fell ill in 1999 new strips ended. Readers still wanted to see Peanuts in the comic section even if they weren’t new. As a result the strip still appears in over 2,200 newspapers. Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and the gang are now firmly a part of pop culture. This beautiful book is the ultimate collection for Peanuts’ fans.

I got this book thinking it was going to be another collection of strips with some interesting background info. For a Peanuts fan, like myself, that seemed a good deal.
Boy was I wrong. This book is so much more. This is the ultimate Peanuts scrapbook! Every page has some reproduction sketch or animation cell to pull out and look at. My favorite is the small songbook of Halloween Carols. I remember using this dittoed sheet in elementary.

What a treasure! A sense of nostalgia swept over me while going through this book. I fell in love with the Peanuts gang all over again. Picked up a lot of unknown facts. I especially enjoyed reading the letters to and from Charles M. Schultz. I recommend this book to anyone who grew up reading or watching Charlie Brown.

A fun book, scrap-book style, with pockets to hold correspondence, sketches, cards, etc. Lots of Peanuts memorabilia and history. Great tribute to Charles Schulz.
Lucy is my favorite, but Sally is a close second.

Happiness is a warm puppy according to Snoopy and this book will warm your heart just as well. I grew up reading Peanuts everyday and in fact I still do. This book is a composite of art work, graphics and amazing details about Peanuts that should bring joy to Peanuts lovers everywhere. You don't really even have to like Peanuts to enjoy the detail that this book contains since it is a marvel of modern art work. There are reproductions of notes from Charles Schultz, copies of original drawing

This is a Wonderful Peanuts Collection; just like the Title says. The inserts to pull out are a very nice addition to this book. Much background information if given on the characters and things related to the comic strip.
Book comes inside a nice case cover for protection and makes for an interesting coffee table book too! Snoopy is my favorite character and Lucy second.
