2.5 stars. Really needed to read the first book in the series. Sweet spiritual historical about a woman who starts an orphanage and falls in love with a Dr.

it was a good story of falling in love and turning back to God. I enjoyed it. had a little trouble starting off because of the dialect but once I got into it it all came together. good read.

This book doesn't address how her actions shock society. What staid and stuffy teas? What malicious gossip?

Some inspirational romances are sweet. They bring religion into the story in a way that works with the historical cultures the authors are writing about. This one? Ugh.

The story would have appealed to me more had there been more of a focus on how the 'heroine' changed and grew as a person, and how she dealt with society's opinions of orphanages, and less of a focus on praying.
