Julian de Laurent defied his father's wishes to marry the bride of his father's choice and took out an advertisement for an actress. He had almost given up hope when he met Camilla Chandler. She wasn't exactly an actress, but rather a journalist whose boss wanted an exclusive on Julian. Camilla refused to give in and do something against her principles, and in the end lost her job.

Feeling as if she was out of options, she agreed to Julian's bargain to marry him for six months, divorce and in ret...more

There are a few presumptions in this story that I could not get my head around - the biggest one of which - why would an attractive, successful billionaire who runs the family business go to such lengths to deceive and foil his father's plans? Isn't he man enough to stand up to his father? I had a hard time accepting that. That someone so powerful, so rich would be so afraid of his dad. But then, familial loyalty can skew things, I guess. Once I got over that, I was hooked on the story.
I do admi...more

What would you do if you had the opportunity to marry a rich and famous person with the agreement that in six months the marriage would be dissolved AND you would become a multimillionaire? Me personally, if I had no other relationship ties, I would so do it. Camille Chandler is put in this exact situation with only one other stipulation. She answers to the wife-seeking ad in order to get a scoop for her magazine. Her dream is to write a column for some prestigious magazine. The problem came whe...more

he Marriage Bargain by Sandra Edwards is a fairy tale come true. Camille Chandler is a journalist who works for one of *those* tabloids. Julian de Lauren is a super rich French playboy. Julian runs an ad looking for a single actress for an extended job abroad. Camille's Boss wants her to pretend to audition for the job so she can get all the juicy details of what de Lauren is up to and then walk out at the last minute. Camille refuses and suddenly finds herself without a job and forced to consid...more

Marriage Bargin

I was given a copy of Marriage Bargain by Sandra Edwards in exchange for an honest review. Let me tell you wow. I started and finished this book in one hour. There could have been a natural disaster such as a hurricane or a tornado and the only thing besides my son that I would have made sure I had was my Kindle because I was not going to stop reading this FABULOUS story. What would you do if you find out that true love does exist even in the most...more

I've read quite a few stories by Sandra Edwards and have enjoyed them all. She has a wonderful way with romance creating tension, heartache and attractions that sizzle.

In "The Marriage Bargain" she crafts a story with her own unique flair that keep you turning the pages. I could feel Camille's angst as she refuses to compromise her morals when her boss wants her to accept a marriage proposal and write a tell-all expose on millionaire Julian de Laurent. Her boss does not agree with Camille's mor...more

Julian de Laurent is a rich French dude and I'm not sure that Camille is the brightest bulb in the box because she just believes everything he says without doing her googling!
Camille is an Stanford educated writer and she is sent out to get a story on Julian but then refuses to complete it because it involves her getting married to Julian for six months.
For five million dollars, it is well worth six months posing as Julian's wife to his family and friends.
I did see the obvious romance for what i...more

Camille Chandler answered Julian de Laurent’s ad placed in the L.A. Trades for a refined actress while working undercover as a reporter for a tabloid magazine. Her boss sent her to find out what the French billionaire playboy was up to. When she discovered he was looking for an actress to portray his wife for six months to thwart his father’s efforts to get him into an arranged marriage, Camille tells her boss she wants no part of the scheme to write a tell-all on the family. She’s promptly fire...more

I'm on a roll with average tales, makes me think the kindle .99 reads aren't even worth that. Few I have rated over 2 stars, so going forward my .99 purchases will definitely include a reader rating review. FYI - Deal of the Days are excluded from this "thought" those are usually well researched "deals".

The book wasn't a 100% waste of time, if you enjoy a classic fairytale converted to modern times. But frankly the opening premise isn't really at all plausable so it steps out badly. After that,...more

This is a fantastic story that reads much like a fairy tale. Every so often I crave a little mood-lifter - something 'girlish' that leaves me feeling like the world is a happy place once again. The world inside this book fit the bill perfectly! In it we find the handsome rich cultured man looking for freedom - only to find that he is unexpectedly mesmerized by an average woman whom he hires to excuse him from a family marriage arrangement. We have a beautiful setting - a chateau in France with g...more

It's the story 'Two people form a deal/agreement to pretend to be married and then suprise, suprise they end up in love.' There must be thousands of stories similar to this one out there but I still enjoy reading them even though I know it's a busniess deal and their will be some sort of climax where it looks like one betrayed the other but you know at the end everything comes together with a nice little bow.
The Marriage Bargain is completely romance; Julian is so charming, sweet and such a gent...more

**I received a copy of The Marriage Bargain free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion through Promotional Book Tours**

The Marriage Bargain is a story about two polar opposites who meat due to an ad placed in the newspaper. On one hand Camille is striving to be a writer, working as an intern for a tabloid paper. Now on the other hand we have Julian the billionaire seeking to get out of an arranged marriage. What will happen when there fate crosses their paths? A marriage based upon conveni...more

Julian is an eccentric, filthy-rich playboy from France. Camille is hardly making ends meet as a budding tabloid journalist. Julian, thinking Camille is an actor, offers to marry her in order to avoid an arranged marriage with a bride of his father's choosing. Fight there should have been a dead give away that this plot was not going to be very deep. The plot was weak, and needed a lot more developing, especially when Julian never explains to any sort of satisfaction why this fake marriage is st...more

I love romance stories. I love all the creative ways authors come up with the characters meeting. I love the way we get to see them grow closer. I love the rush of feeling of the two being ripped apart. I love, love the reconnecting and truly heartfelt love between the characters.
What was great about this book was that you got read all about the little steps. I also loved that it was written in the third person, so that we got to know what each character was feeling. I thought Camille was just...more

First, I have to admit that I picked up this book for two reasons; it was free and I’d been curious about all these wedding related books. I kept seeing The Wedding Bargain/Plot/Deal/Pact and finally decided to try one. Plus I love wedding dresses so the covers get my attention. This one was an easy read. Julian, a French business man, is looking to hire a fake wife so his father won’t make him marry woman he doesn’t love. Camille lost her job for not taking his offer and then writing a story ab...more

I read this book as part of a book tour for Promotional Book Tours.

I knew how this book was going to end before I even started to read it. With that being said, it does not mean I didn't enjoy it.

I loved that Camille stood her ground no matter what. No matter what her heart was saying, she listened with her head. She never forgot what her morals told her. You have to give her a lot of respect for that.

This story was one that modern day fairty tales are made of. Is it all just a business deal? Do...more

Delightful, it begins with Camilles interesting interview for hire to pose as a wife for six months in return she'll get payed three million dollars. Obviously, Julian is some hot French guy, spoiled filthy billionaire who opposed his father choice of bride for him, and he wanted to stay single. So, he went to America, and hires Camille as his pretend wife so that his father would leave him alone. Though their supposed "pretend" became real, and gets complicated because Julian ex-girl wanted Juli...more

For the most part, I really enjoyed this book. The beginning held my interest and I couldn’t wait to see how the characters developed in the story. I loved Camille’s character – a reporter with ethics and lots of spunk. Julian is almost the typical international playboy. It was predictable that they would really fall in love though their relationship was initially a ruse. But the second half of the book just didn’t seem as developed as the first half, as if the author was in a hurry to finish th...more

This was my fun read for the week and I really enjoyed the book. It was fast paced and packed with characters I immediately wanted to get to know better. I felt an instant emotional connection to Camille, the main character. She was witty, strong, and trying to find her way. (My kinda gal) I thought Edwards did a great job of developing the emotional connection between her heroine and the hero, Julian. It was one of those stories that I read until I just couldn't keep my eyes open! Then I woke u...more

The Marriage Bargain was a nice short read. It starts with a rich handsome man needing to find a "fake" wife, and a writer asked to do a story about him. But she gets fired for deciding against doing the story about him and his family, so she accepts his arrangement for a "fake" marriage for six months. This is just a short read to pass the time. It wasn't something where I connected with the characters, or got emotional involved with the story.

I love this book , read it in no time ! Julian & camille are adorable ! But come on , I wished we knew that his father grows to love Abby . And what about Tasha and Andre ? Do they have a book . I feel like they have something going on but i don't know what ! And if Julian knows whether Camille never intended to write the story . He probably does but I needed confirmation . It ended too soon .

"if there's no one to bother you , There's also no one to love you " .

This is the first book I've read by Sandra Edwards and I really enjoyed it. It is always an adventure when two characters feel more for one another than intended and is fun to read their story as they struggle to figure it out. I loved the dynamic between Julian and Camille and also that Camille was such a stromg-willed character. Overall this book was a great read and hard to put down.

I really enjoyed the story, but i felt there could have just been MORE chemistry written about them. they had a few scenes in the book together, but otherwise it was usually just about their business proposal. And I really thought that Madeleine would have been more bitchy and made more of a scene and tried to actually sabotage the wedding/relationship more.

For a book that I picked out of a random list, it was actually really good. It had a genuine feel to it where the story wasn't rushed. There was a few minor flaws in terms of character actions, but nothing a proofreader couldn't catch. The only problem I had was the end. It didn't seem to fit the characters and was a little bit rushed.

A sweet little romance. The Marriage Bargain is a quick and easy read. Camille is a journalist without a job, Julian is a rich hottie in need of a fake wife. The two form a business arrangement which will pay Camille millions if they stay together 6 months. What will happen during the 6 months ? Will they reach happily ever after well you'll have to read it to find out. No spoilers here.

I received a free copy of this book from Promotional Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.

I usually like my "fluff" books but this wasn't one of them. The story was okay but not scintillating and the writing could have been better. I stopped in the middle, not intending to finish it. I did finish but can't say I would have missed anything if I hadn't.

I didn't think I was going to like this Bookbub free read but I did. Julian and Camille had great chemistry and the pace of the story moved along moderately. A nice romantic fantasy to escape the everyday blahs!! A nice fairy tale for all the romantics out there!

This was a nice romance. It kept me going, while rooting for Camille. Nice big house, jewelry, a yacht, etc. I kept going because I wanted to see what would happen. Maybe I'm a little jaded, because the spark didn't really seem to be there.
