The next addictive thriller from the uncomparable bestseller Karen Rose

When the corpse is identified, Lucy is shocked to discover that the v

3 ½ stars – Romantic Suspense

Karen Rose is definitely the master when it comes to creepy killers, eerie chillers, and dark thrillers, and this was certainly no exception. You Belong To Me is an edgy, intense romantic suspense that introduces a new cast of characters based in the Baltimore area. I really liked the hero, sexy widower and former military sniper and vice cop, Homicide Detective J.D. Fitzpatrick. The romance between J.D. and medical examiner with a troubled past, Dr. Lucy Trask, is e

Wow. This was a lot of book to get through (494 pages), but well worth the time it took to read it. This is the start of a new series of connected books for Karen Rose taking place in Baltimore, so expect to meet a lot of characters and read plenty of details about them. As expected with the first book of a series, all that set-up can slow the pace of the book down a bit, and I thought this book lagged just a bit in the middle. But once everything started coming together, the last third of the b ...more
Karen Rose knows exactly how to write a story that will grab you and not let go. This story revolves around a lot of secrets. It twists and turns all the way to the end. There is a lot of violence in this book so if that bothers you than I suggest you do not read it.
4 stars for You Belong to Me by Karen Rose

First of I have to say, that I'm a big fan of Karen Rose. I've pretty much read all her books.
You Belong to Me is about Lucy Trask, an ME ,who discovers the dead body of a good friend, while on her morning run. Or so it seems....
The story has quite a few twists and we learn, that there is something even bigger going on, something from Lucy's past.
And let me tell you, Lucy does have a lot of secrets...

The killer is a brutal one, I would say even m
Karen Rose is one of my favorite romantic suspense writers...mainly because she doesn't hold back. Her characters always have been through and continue to go through horrible things, and they make it through all of them. The characters in her novels always resonate with me because they're survivors.

While this particular story wasn't my favorite of hers, it was still a solid book that had me enthralled from the getgo. JD and Lucy feel an instant connection that the reader immediately picks up on
I took this book to read without much of a expectation. And I was wrong. Great, great read! Mystery with everything you want from one: JD is a homicide inspector with a past and beautiful MD Lucy who has all kind of secrets about her. And a killer who has a personal motive. The rhythm of the story is fast and furious. The murders are bloody, gruesome and monstrous, so this book is not for people with weak heart or stomach because the author portrayed them vividly and true to the reality. Bodies ...more

I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Karen Rose is literally as good as it gets in writing romantic mystery/thrillers. No one can do what she can. She puts you straight into the lives of the MCs and victims, making them feel like characters you've been reading about for years. At the same time, she puts you in the mind of the killers with chilling success. As you continue to bounce back and forth between different POVs you'll become so addicted to her books that you won't be able to stop ...more
Narrator: Marguerite Gavin

THE NARRATOR: 3 stars.
Her narratin' version of Lucy was not to my likin'. Lucy's accent, in the words of the book, 'It wasn’t quite Southern, but she wasn’t from the city. At least not originally.” so I guess I can't fault Gavin for makin' Lucy drop her 'g's when she talking. Do ALL Southerners drop their 'g's? Anyway, that did make me pause and revise my perception of the heroine as in my mind, she was 100% a big
The first book in Karen Rose's Baltimore series. During her morning run, Baltimore Medical Examiner Dr. Lucy Trask finds a dead body. The investigation leads the police to believe that Lucy is connected to this killer in some way. Homicide detective J.D. Fitzpatrick is on the job to help connect the dots and keep Lucy safe.

Another intense, gritty, suspenseful and entertaining read by Ms. Rose. I've said it before and I say it again, Ms. Rose writes the creepiest villains out there. The story spe

I'm a big fan of Ms. Rose and as far as KR fare goes, this doesn’t disappoint. It holds her usual cocktail of chilling, thrilling suspense, wickedly insane serial killer, dark pasts, deep-buried secrets, traumatic upbringings, and a side-dish of hot romance.

On the other hand, I was rather disappointed with the slowness of the pace (I became a fan because her books were always fast-moving page-turners), and the annoying heroine (which came as quite a surprise, since this was a Karen Rose book).
Best Crime Books
When I received KR's latest book I wasn't surprised to see it was a humdinger of a hardback at 480 pages. This was actually something I relished, a meaty book that I could get my teeth into.

In the past Karen Rose has been criticised for her style of writing with some saying that the romance element shouldn't be there. I disagree and see nothing wrong in a crime or thriller novel having a splash of love about it.

In this particular book it took me no time at all to get straight into the heart of t

Another chilling, sexy romantic suspense from Karen Rose. The villain in this one is a serious baddie--and if you've read previous Rose books you'll know that's saying something. The relationship between Lucy, a medical examiner who is being targeted by aforementioned villain, and JD, the detective who is trying to catch the guy, is sexy and sweet. As usual, even the most insignificant secondary characters are memorable, and I've definitely got my hopes for which ones will show up in forthcoming ...more

Holy crap! What a book! This is by far my favourite of hers, and one of the best psychological thrillers I've read in awhile. The storyline was complex and thorough, and kept me literally hooked - honestly I finished it within 36 hours of starting it. The plot was intricately interweaved with such precision that this book is impossible to fault. Sensational!
Ми се допадна, навистина!!!!А и сакам приказни со happy end, барем кога станува збор за љубовта!
Anyone who has read a book by Karen Rose knows that her heros and heroines are mostly deeply wounded characters. They usually work together to catch a serial killer. The herione is always somehow a target of the killers. Almost always at the end the hero rescues the herione from the killer. Still, knowing her basic plot I have read almost all her books to date and find them fast paced and entertaining reads. They are usually interelated so you can follow secondary characters into other books.

Over twenty years ago, a young school girl was raped and murdered on her prom night. Several people witnessed the crime and not one of them helped or came forward. Twenty-one years later and those who were present that night start dying in horrific ways it seems that someone wants young Medical Examiner, Lucy Trask, to not only find each body but to pay for her part in it (only Lucy has no idea what part she actually played).

Despite deciding a long time ago that Karen Rose is probably an author

As the story begins, Baltimore Medical Examiner Lucy Trask arrives home to discover a body, left right where she would find it. It turns out it's someone who was connected to her in the past. And so was the second body. Each of the bodies has a number branded on it, making it clear that they're not isolated incidents, and the killer is not finished. And what's also clear is that something in Lucy's past holds the key to the solution.

Karen Rose was a revelation when I first discovered her books,

one word that appeared in my mind.... MARVELOUS... ! i would say that this book totally got me a hangover ... i just couldn't stop read it even when i finished it...

and again, i felt deeply grief for the Villain, i know he did the murder brutally and extreme tortures...but he had all the reasons to do it.

when he told Lucy the reason why... the part was tearing me down. still i disagree of what he'd done.

after all, about the Hot-Narcotic Det. J.D. Fitzpatrick, i love him.... i fall in love with h
Very high body count in this novel. If the vengeance driven killer wasn't trying to decimate an entire small town outside of Baltimore, the author piled up a buncha dead people in the hero/heroine's past.

Lucy--dead brother, dead fiance
JD--dead wife
Stevie--dead husband, dead son

Like any good Lifetime novel, though, once I got sucked into the plot I had to finish. There were some good plot points despite the repetitive writing. Naturally, the pretty Medical Examiner with the dead brother and fianc

Yorumum için:
After reading 500 pages of this book in what seems like an eternity, I only have one thing to say: "Thank God I'm finished with it!"

And I had such high hopes...

It looked like an interesting book. The reviews were good. The title was good. I liked the blurb. I liked the cover. And it was so bad for me. I struggled to finish it. In the end all I had was a headache.

I can't even start to talk about what it was about and what didn't work for me. The headache is getting in the way of my thoughts.

‘You Belong To Me’ is a thrilling, exciting and realistic detective novel.
I love the characters. They are smart, witty, sarcastic, and have troubled pasts. The characters develop nicely in the novel. It is executed extremely well. The steamy moments in the novel aren’t too blush-worthy nor are they too boring.

The novel ends beautifully. It isn’t a rushed ending, because of an impending deadline. All the questions are answered. Life goes on.

I probably would have enjoyed this book more if I had read it versus listened to it. I personally thought that the narrator was terrible! Most of the novel was read with a flat tone and, when she changed her voice for certain characters she ended up sounding silly. I had a hard time listening to her and actually looked the book up in the library to see if it was available so I could read it rather than listen to it, as I was actually enjoying the story itself. Ok, so now that it is a more reasonable time of the day, let me stop to tell you what I thought about this book.

There are some books that just come to life when you close your eyes. They play out like they are on the TV screen in front of you. Well this was one of those books.
I was always fully engaged in the story. There were many times that I gasped out loud at the horrific scenes playing out on the p

Yazarı ve tarzını beğendim devam kitaplarıda gelir inşallah özellikle seride başa dönülürse çok mutlu olucağımı şimdiden söyleyebilirim.
