I'm on a mission to help my kids better understand and appreciate art and music in a way that is fun for them and doesn't feel like "eating their vegetables." This book is one my daughters actually enjoy reading because it is short, interesting, funny, and full of beautiful art. I can actually see the paintings stirring their imaginations as they touch the pages. I'm excited to read the rest of the series!

Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists, Mary Cassatt is another entertaining and informative edition in this fantastic collection by Mike Venezia. These books are perfect for exposing elementary and junior high aged students to a large variety of artists and styles of art.

A good introduction to the work of artist Mary Cassattas well as to the genre of biography. I read this aloud to my 4th & 5th graders, and they enjoyed it and were able to ask intelligent questions. They did get a bit sidetracked by the picture which included a naked baby, however.
