Die Geschichte beginnt 1908, die Hauptperson Eskandar ist noch ein Kind – und findet auf der anderen Seite des verbotenen Berges nicht nur die ersten nach Öl suchenden Ausländer, sondern auch Wasser und Lebensmittel, die in seinem Dorf ohne Namen schon lange nicht mehr ausreichend vorhanden sind.

Recommends it for: those interested in not "high-class European countries" and the other truth of history.
Great novel! A whole life of an Irani taking pathes you wouldn't presume at the beginning but which becomes unbelievably clear in the end - for my part. True is also the comment of a German broadcaster: If you like to understand the Iranian history, this novel at least will help you. Thanks for that!
