Bright and playful paintings are ideal for pre-school children and their parents.
This story is extra fun to read when you have the children act out the parts and have wrist ribbons to wear.
All of the animals are happy and show it!
The hippos even know that "If you're happy and you know it, go KISS KISS." The children did not choose to kiss kiss their parents then.

This book is great for young students because they can follow along with the images and move around with the different actions that are presented. Its a great way to get children up and moving, and the illustrations are fun because they are of all different types of animals.

This book is written about a favorite children's song. It has wonderful pictures and places for children to add action during the story so they are also involved even if they are listening while being read to. Happy friendly book.

Children love to sing and make animal sounds and this is the perfect book to help get that fun started. A great interactive book that will be fun for everyone. You can get this book in board pages as well as hardcover format.

Excellent pictures and presentation, great for PreK & K. Tons of fun moving around and singing! It's all about happiness =) although I think it's valuable for kids to get to sing about other emotions too.
Leah
What beautiful illustrations! Could use this well-known song in a book with babies to encourage parents to chime in. Could use this with toddlers and preschoolers to get them doing the actions.
Meghan
An interactive story that goes right along with the famous song, If you're happy and you know it. A great story to get students up and moving and helps students practice listening skills.

We borrowed this from the library it was a favourite with the entire family at book time. I think we are going to have to buy it, it was such a hit with the 19 month old.
Samantha
A picture book version of the popular children's action song set against paintings of jungle animals.

A great text to sing along to for toddlers and preschoolers.
Katie Casey
The classic fun song retold with animals. Yes, you still get to clap and stomp, but you also get to roar like a lion! Love it!

Our newest book from the doctor's office received at Natalie 15 month appointment. It was helpful to have it that day in the office, too, because it helped Natalie calm down after the exam while waiting for her shots. The illustrations are bright and colorful with pictures of different animals preforming different actions. You can read or sing it. You can read one page or all of it. Natalie liked being able to clap and stomp her feet, but its yet ready for most of the other actions.

I sing this book to Catherine and she loves it. We have checked it out from the library three times already. The illustrations of the animals are fun, and the song is fun. If we have it in the house, it's the first book she'll pull off the shelf to read.

We DID like this one. We read this non-stop for almost a year. Great colors, bright, fun and engaging. Each animal does a different motion which my kids loved acting out. Good rhythm and flow.

A huge favorite with my little ones.
Barbara
Great version of the song with lovely, bold illustrations. This is a great book to use for the singing practice in ECRR. There is lots of play-along action in this book, which makes it a two-fer in ECRR, singing and playing.
Ashley Fortson
This book talks about all differnt types of animals. THis book would be great for younger kids to teach them about all the differnt types of animals there are and what sounds they make.
Bill Sannwald
The artwork is cute and the text makes it perfect to sing aloud to start a storytime. Just be sure to demonstrate all the actions instead of being boring and sitting there some old stump!
Heather
I use this book with my kids like an invitation to read. I've never started reading it without a child wanting to do all the actions, and then snuggling in at my side for the next book.
Theresa
kindergarten introduction to reading, early reader using the rythmn of the song to help teach children word connections and ideas
Megan
Cabrera adds several new actions to the familiar children's song. A great story-time pick for little ones!

This is a nicely illustrated book that goes along with the song.
