I love the Paladin warriors, but it turns out that they haven't cornered the market on pathos as Larem, former guardian to his people now living in our world takes the spotlight. Unlike the two other Kalith past leads, Larem is not in our world by choice and he hasn't had an easy time resigning himself to his exile. Even though he has won acceptance from many of the Paladin, and made a few close friends, he is still haunted by what he has lost - his home and the woman he loved but never pursued....more

Larem q'Jones is an Other, meaning he is from a parallel world called Kalithia. He was brought into our world by Paladins, super human warriors who protect the secret barrier separating the two worlds. Adjusting to a new life is hard enough without a new Regent sent in to clean up the mess left by corrupt administrators. A Regent who may or may not allow Larem and his fellow Kaliths stay in this world. Sasha Willis knows the Seattle contingent of Paladins is harboring a few Kalith refugees in t...more

I really enjoyed this one, I've got a soft spot for the stores in this series that involve the aliens trying to make a home in our world. Being so out of their depth, feeling like they don't belong, and then finding the love of a good man/woman and the companionship of faithful friends. Kind of pushes my buttons.

While the hero and heroine in this book are cut from the same mold as previous ones (hero: alpha, warrior, independent, protective heroine: smart, sassy, determined, brave and independen...more

I really liked this book. Larem was an interesting hero. He hadn't come to this world by choice, but he was trying to make it work. Sasha was trying to get ahead in her career and she wanted to do it by helping the Paladins, not controlling them. They fell for each other hard and fast, but were both afraid of how their budding relationship could possibly progress with so many differences and obstacles. But when push came to shove, they were both willing to take the chance. Once he gave in to his...more

This was a great read. I loved to read from an "Other's" POV again. I will always prefer the paranormal aspect of the series, so when one of the Kalith is involve I enjoy the books much more. While I had a great time with it, I still thought something was missing. I mean, I loved many things about it, but I know that a month from now I won't remember a thing about it. I guess it just wasn't one of those books which made a huge impression on me. I did enjoyed it big time, don't get me wrong. I ju...more

Fabulous book! Love Larems story. Read the review on my website: www.demonloversbooksandmore.com

Paranormal Haven
The former Regent of Seattle was crooked and misused his power for financial gain at the cost of innocent life. Sasha is sent to the city to investigate and figure out exactly what happened. Her father is a Regent and she looks at going to Seattle as an opportunity to get out of his shadow and earn her own recognition. I found Sasha to be a really good heroine because she is surrounded by very dominate men and she doesn't let any of them intimidate her or command her to do what they want all whi...more

Too much of the book was conflict between the couple that was vague and uninteresting. I wanted it to be over.

STORY BRIEF:
Kaliths (Others) live underground. Many get a sickness which makes them insane. The barrier between their world and the human world periodically weakens, and the sick ones cross through with swords - killing anyone they see. Paladins appear human, but they have the ability to come back to life after being killed. They heal quickly. They are sword fighting warriors. Humans pa...more

It's safe to say that Alexis Morgan can included one more among her fan base! After reading the latest novel in her Paladins of Darkness series, the seventh installment titled Bound by Darkness, I am undeniably hooked. This action packed paranormal romance has a little bit of everything --especially if you love interesting immortal warriors who are sexy as all get out! --and enough action and suspense to keep you riveted until the last page.

The wo...more

I read this book right after Deafeat The Darkness so there is continuity in the reading process. So this book started off alright. Then it became slower as I progressed. That has to be strange! Like, I expected to finish this book within a few days, a week the most. But it's been like, what, a month? That's slow! I have to give the pace a lower rating than the other Paladin books with that. The book is not bad, it's just not a quick read for me. Or it could be that my reading experience has been...more

I have loved all the past Paladian books. It took me a minute to get into this one. I was expecting a little more from Larem's story. I feel like somehting was missing and that the end was wrapped up nice and tidy-too neat and too soon. This book was Alexis Morgan's normal formula but with something lacking. I think it was the romance between Larem and Sasha- I just did not feel the chemistry/intensity that I felt in the past books. I also wanted the dog, Chance, to play a more intricate role. H...more

I liked Larem which is weird because I wasn't impressed with him by the end of the last novel. Sasha...she wasn't bad. I just wasn't into her that much. Plus overbearing dads are annoying they should be put in their place. All in all I liked the story I appreciated the way that we learn more about Sasha and Larem through their interactions with other characters in the book and not their interactions with each other. I'm not sure I believed they loved each other in the end. Their story felt like...more

Cute, sweet, not the action packed passion Morgan usually display's, but a nice book anyway. Larem is the kind of character every woman loves, quiet, strong, and a little lost in our world. He finds his attraction to Sasha grounds him in some way. The overall Paladin war makes a little headway with the discovery of the traitors in the organization, and a few suprises are in store as to is actually allied with Kincade. Sasha and Larem's story is sweet, not a page turning obsession, but still a ve...more

A continuation of the Paladins. This story is about the Kalith named Larem who has traveled across the energy barrier to earth. He meets Sarah who the daughter of the Regent. She comes to the Paladins to investigate and try to figure out what needs to be done to improve the Paladins operations. But Larem does not know how Sarah will react when she finds out he is considered one of the enemy. She mistakes him for a Paladin soldier when they become involved. Good read but it helps to have read the...more

I want a Paladin of my own . LOVE the series.

The Paladins are a great series. I love each book better then the one before. This book is one of her better ones and I'm not sure if I feel that way because I enjoyed reading about an other that falls in love with a Regent, or if the story line was just that great. I think it was a little of both. Both Sasha and Larem each had so many things that they had to work out both in their personal and business lives. I also love the rest of the Paladins and the way they all interact.
Michelle
I very much liked the story of Larem and Sasha, probably better than some of the other stories I've read in this series. Larem was definitely one of my favorite characters. I'm glad he got his HEA. I do wish the last two chapters of the book hadn't finished as quickly as they did! But then I'm mean like that, I'm usually always wanting another chapter or two.
I'll be reading the next books in the series. :)
Melissa
This is one of my favorite books in the series. I like Larem with his healing abilities and I really like his big white dog Chance. This is my second time re-reading this series and I gravitated towards this book. I don't think you can enjoy this book without reading the others in the series. There is to much important background information you gain from the previous books. I recommend you read them in order.
Sheryl
Another fine addition to a very enjoyable series. I love these alpha males and their equally fierce women! I was really looking forward to reading Larem's story and I was not let down. The camaraderie between the warriors is as strong as ever and makes these books even more fun. Yes, the books in this series follow a formula, but it's a good formula and makes for a quick and enjoyable read.

This is the second time I read this book. This was the first book i read in the series and loved it so i decided to read the complete series. Since i love to read a series in order i just had to re-read the book and loved it more the second time around. Great action and hot sex with alien man that has a way with knowing what women like. Cant forget the dog.
Cindy
A new series favorite. Order really matters in this series, there is a strong series story arc.

I'm not even sure why I keep reading the books in this series, they are all very similar. Yet I always pick up the new ones. I guess it's my way of squeezing some romance into my reading without feeling like I'm totally abandoning my beloved fantasy. I thought this one was one of the better ones though, as it involved the others more heavily.
Sara
And I think I'm at the point where I stop reading this series. It started out great, and now its just not holding my interest. Granted, this isn't literature with high expectations (other than entertainment, but it should at least be a fun read - I had no problem putting it down, and predicted the plot 100% essentially.

I almost only gave this two stars, and I was excited about Larem's book but was not too impressed with the romance with Sasha. It seemed sort of one-dimensional. But, I still really like the world Morgan's created, despite the need to seriously suspend my disbelief, due to my knowledge of geology. ;)
Karen
I love this series. This is about Larem, one of the Kalith from the other side. He and the heroine,Sasha, daughter of one of the Regents fight their attraction to each other while dealing with unknown enemies. Great characters and there is even a dog named Chance you will fall in love with.
Heather
Book 7, with Larem and Sasha was simply cute, sweet and perfectly entertaining. The habit of each couple going from not knowing each other to loving each other to proposing marriage is a bit too fast for me, but the stories are still sweet easy reads that have never been boring.
Bibliolatry Me
Bound by Darkness will keep readers entranced with the characters Alexis Morgan has created. I love this book, and recommend any who enjoy sexy, action packed romances, to pick this series up.

The proper elements are all present but the storyline is not very compelling. Trouble establishing a rapport with the major characters, perhaps because of an unfamiliarity with the series.
