Recommends it for: parents reading with their children
We've read most of the Capital Mysteries and have really enjoyed the series. This was one of our favorites. We enjoyed learning about Monticello and laughed at Spikes antics. The mystery was exciting and not overly dangerous for KC and Marshall. Now that we live in Virginia, it's wonderful to read about the various monuments and historical places that we can visit here.

KC and Marshall are painting a closet in the Whitehouse. They find a box of horses that belong to Thomas Jefferson so they go with KC's mom to Monticello. Soon after it is stolen, how could it be stolen? The box has only two keys. It has to be a worker, but which worker and how?

I liked it. They find some horses made by Thomas Jefferson's grandchildren in the white house. They have to return them to Monticello, but they get stolen right after they return them.
