The Cirque Du Freak series gets freakier and freakier as each novel unravels. Haven’t you ever wondered how a child becomes a vampire? In this book, we are in this scenario where Darren tries to become a vampire. His fate rests in the trials. If he fails any of the five trials, he is banished.

In this book, Darren and Mr. Creepsly travel to a mountain full of an abundance of caves. Within these caves lie many vampires both here for the trial and the festival. As Darren finishes two of ...more

this was a good boob its about a boy named Darren Shan and he is half vampire and half human. he needs to pass five scary trials to prove that he can be into the vampire clan. if he fails he is going to need to go to the halls of death. where you have no choice but to die. the only problem is that vampire mountain has hidden threats. a lot of people come to watch. in this nightmare world of blood and horror and betrayal the best thing may be to die. but he passes and he is finally excepted in ...more

This is the fifth book of the Cirque Du Freak series. In this book Darren is a half vampire but everyone looks down at him because he is only half of what they are. To be reconized as a full vampire, he needs to endure 5 deadly trials. These are known as the Trials of Initiation, but in Darren's case, it is the Trials of Death because he is a half vampire and does not have features of a full vampire such as cut healing saliva. Darren faces the water maze trial which he needs to carry a heav...more

Trials of Death by Darren Shan is one of my favorite out of the series. It is filled with action and specially suspense. The book is about Darren Shan having to face the Trials of Death to prove that he is a worthy vampire to everyone in Vampire Mountain. Darren Shan is only a half vampire so it was more difficult for him because he didn't have the full ability of a full vampire. Failing the Trials of Death means death in any means and there is no backing out for Darren Shan. Darren Shan learns ...more

In 1 part of the book darren has to go threw trials of death to see if he is a 100% full vampire and not just half of a vampire. The 1st trial if a water maze. Darren almost died in the water maze because he couldnt find the door with a X on it so he could escape the maze and move on. He kept on seeing doors with an X on it but when he would swim to the door there would be no x on the door. just when he was about to runout of oxygen he saw a door with an X on it and he swamed to it and he though...more

The main character, Darren Shan takes part in the Trials of Initiation. The trials are a series of tasks that vampires used to have to do to prove themselves to the Princes. Now it is only used for vampires who want to become a general or that want to show their strength, but Darren Shan has to endure the trials because Mr. Crepsley said so and Darren chooses to stand up for his mentor and friend.

Darren must randomly choose five numbered stones from a bag to determine the trials he mus...more

Trials of Death is probably my favorite book out of the twelve book series. Each page is filled with action and it makes you keep reading until you finish it. Trials of Death is about a boy named Darren Shan who has to do the Trials of Death or he will face his death and also to prove to the vampires at Vampire Mountain that he is a worthy vampire. Darren has to do five trials that can kill him. The five trials involve finding a way out of a water maze, being burned, fighting animals that are bl...more

Trials of death is the 5th part of the series written by Darran Shan. In this book hakrat is envloled in a huge way when he saved darran from what may be a painfull death in the 4th trail. Mr crepsly doesnt play much of a role in this because he is doing other things but stays with darran to make sure his trails are going well and he is staying healthy. Arra sails helps Darran in this book to train for some of the trails and so does the one eyed games master, if it wasn't for the help of thes...more

Darren Shan takes his chances and starts his trails to become a vampire. Does he succeed, or does he have to face death? Darren Shan tries to survive and become a vampire. Will he survive? You would have to read this great book in order to find out. Darren Shan has once again written an amazing book. Darren is more creative than ever. He is, once aga...more

This book is amazing. it really showed the reader how much the vampire's cared about tradition and respect and pride. i was kind pf scared for Darran when he found out that he had to take the trials of death or he would be looked down upon by the other vampires. the trials where really deadly and he nearly died in every trial, but with the luck of the vampires, he survived each trial he had to deal with.

The trials can relate to the outside world in many was. one way is that, when a ...more

In Cirque Du Freak Trials Of death, Daren has to go through five trails to prove himself worthy to the vampire clan and if he does not complete the task he faces death! The main characters in this book are mostly Darren because most of the book is mostly about him. Book 5 is good because you learn more about the vampaneze which are the vampires arch enemies.
I can definatly connect this book to the hunger games because in the hunger games the players have to face death just like ...more

This is probably the first book in the whole series that I really enjoyed. I liked the other books in the series, but this one actually captured and held my attention, making me want to read the book. I'm going to make a prediction here: (This is a *slight* spoiler, so don't read this next sentence if you haven't read the book yet! Ye hath been warned.) Kurda is the Vampaneeze Lord!

Am I right? Oooh DON'T tell me if I am! I hate book spoilers. But, considering some of the things that ...more

In book five Darren must face the Trials: seventeen ways to die unless the luck of the vampire is with you. He must pass five fearsome trials to prove himself to the vampire clan - or else face the stakes of the Hall of Death. As with previous books in the series you will be turning pages quickly to learn more about the Trials and the dangers that await young Darren. Word of warning though, some of the Trials are pretty stomach-turning, this book is not for the those easily scared.

So I really liked this book. It was action packed and I loved the Trials. They were really difficult but I really like seeing how Darren was able to overcome each and every one of them. TBH, I didn't want the Little Person to go to his rescue, I had hoped he would somehow pull off an amazing win!

But overall I really enjoyed the book. I wished he didn't flee at the end, but could actually face his death bravely. It would have been the right thing to do. But because he left, he discove...more

The series of events that our main character Darren Shan, to me seem much too fast. In this installment he has to prove himself to the vampire clan by completing trials of death. Okay the proving I get but if he fails the only answer is death. A little harsh if you ask me considering the whole vampire race is in danger, but to them it's besides the point. Traditions are long and should be followed. Okay so that being said I just feel that everything happens way to fast. He selects a trial,...more

This has been my favorite Darren book so far! It's completely action packed and because it's the turning point for Darren's hero journey, it's a fast and terrible (in the good way) ride!

This book was about Darren Shan going to join the ranks of the vampires and joins to fight the Vampaneze in the War of the Scars. But in order to join them, he has 5 levels to pass to join the clan of the vampires if not he will be dead in the Trials of Initiation. I think he will pass this challenge because even if he is half vampire he knows some of the ways to survive in the challenge. I think he is going to pass in the first level because i think that he knows w...more

In the 5th book of the series, Darren continues on his journey to earn the reputation of himself. He didn't give up but he pushed harder as his experiences get more difficult. Darren has to go through a maze and survive a 5 day trail of death in order of becoming a full vampire, and get his full respects from the other vampires.

I can relate to this because I want to go to Bard High School Early College, and I was persistant to do the test and get good grades and follow what I w...more

This was a very good book, Darren has to take his trials. He first does the aquatic maze and he barely escapes. Then, he does the path of needles which he made it through but got a lot of cuts. Then he survived the hall of flames while getting his hair burnt off and barely made it ready for his 4th trial. In that trial he had to fight 2 bears but after he killed the 1st one, he was trapped and Harkat killed the 2nd bear. The vampires were mad and decided that some punishment was needed. Harkat g...more

in this book Darren has to pass a bunch of trails to prove himself worthy of being a vampire. Alot of things happen during this book and in someways is like the big changing point for the seris. He has to do some hellish and hard trails to prove himself worthy.
Worest of all is that if Darren fails the trail, he is ordered to die. In all of the trails if you fail they won't rescue you, you just die. So without the luck of the vampire, passing the trails isn't a easy thing. Espically since Da...more
