This is one of my favorite stories from the past few years. An artist and an ambitious, successful, and seriously ill woman fall in love in Boston. It is was the title says, a little love story. Throw is a cigarette smoking priest who breaks his vow of silence and viola, good story. The end was ...more...

Another quick summer read. Merullo is a good writer. Not your typical love story. The writing and story have a noir quality about them. Jake, late nights, femme fatale.
Subtle, but effective. Overall, in trying to keep the characters subtle and real, they felt flat.

By pure coincidence, I just read two books in a row with nearly identicle plots; A Little Love Story by Roland Merullo, and Sammy's Letters to Jennifer by James Patterson.
While the Patterson novel seemed forced and contrived, Merullo's work lead me to ponder life, love and death.
