Kicks Halo's arse...loved it!
I've been rather disappointed in most of the Angel books that have come my way recently - too slow, too insipid (seriously, I couldn't even read Halo without snorts of derision and finally gave up for the sake of my colleagues sanity) and too whiny.

This book had me from page one. There was just something about Violet that I connected with. She made mistakes and hasty decisions but it made the whole story that much more believable. It was an extremely fast read, and it packed a ton of excitement into the small amount of time I took to read it. The author of this book is clearly talented. She's a good writer, she had some interesting plot elements, and I think she had a unique approach to the whole angel concept... Or at least a better thought-out approach than a lot of the other angel-books I've seen lately. And it was definitely better-written than some of the ones I (barely) squeaked through!

I read this book from start to finish in just a few hours. I was gripped from the very first page. The storyline is unique & not like any other YA lit. book I've read before. It had aspects of The Mortal Instruments Boxed Set: City of Bones; City of Ashes; City of Glass series, but at the same time, it was completely different.

I honestly had to stop re-reading Embrace just to start this review! It's the kind of book that catches your attention from page one and keeps it long even after the last page is turned. Make sure that you have lots of time when you start this because you won't be able to put it down!
