So, what do we have here? Sarah - no last name because, really, who cares? - is found in a very compromising situation and has two choices: go to jail or put her name in the bride lottery. She chooses the latter, of course.

This was a very short read. It started out with the sheriff coming up on the daughters pulling an ax out of their father. He got drunk and fell on it, however, it is very incriminating so he puts Sarah in the wife lottery instead of sending her to jail. She ends up with the man she has been dreaming about and that's pretty much where the story ends. Predictible. If you are looking for a quick heartwarming read this is a fairly decent story. The sex is tame and not overly discriptive. Great Karma type of read. There are a bunch of plot lines left open for potential other stories in the future. For those looking for a plucky heroine this one is not for you, she does what is right, but she's not over the top such as Anita Blake, Stephanie Plum, etc. Remember people as much as you might want to fantasize about the olden times, women were posses ...more
