This is the companion book to the PBS series of the same name. A good introduction to some really great art and artists. The series has a little bit of everything-ranging the gambit from performance to traditional 2d media to space age computer installations. I am a Huge Kiki Smith fan as well as Raymond Pettibon (this is the guy who did a lot of the art for Black Flag) so I really enjoyed this book.

I only have the first installment of this series. The companion video series is awesome. I love listening to people talk about the art they create. I was originally drawn to this series because of Maya Lin.

This is a companion book to the PBS series, which I recently picked up on DVD. It's a nice addition to some fantastic and enlightening documentaries on contemporary artists.
