This one will be an ongoing read -- I may never be finished with it, per se. So far I've tried two recipes (traditional chicken and rice, and chicken braised in beer) and served them to company on different occasions, and everyone loved both. I'm about as domestic as Lindsey on "Arrested Development," whose specialty is "hot ham water" -- so I was pleasantly surprised by how well they turned out. The recipes are very easy to follow. Looking forward to trying more!

I watch Lidia's cooking show on PBS when I'm on the treadmill, and I find it oh so motivating. Not sure if I'm sweating or drooling. Her hands remind me of my mom's in the kitchen; calm, confident, expert. More than a cookbook - it's a beautiful tour through Italy.

"Reading" really means cooking from and it is best to accompany with the dvd - Lidia is the ueen of Italian food. I made twice her Val D'Osta cassarole of flat-iron steak w/rosemary, garlic, fontina, savoy cabbage and potatoes - yuuummmm!

I enjoy Lidia's PBS show, and the recipes I have tried from this book were delicious. I attended a tasting at her restaurant Felidia in NYC, and she is as delightful and charming in person as she is on her show and in her cookbooks.
