Slowly working my way through this account of how the first Protestant missionaries and the Hawaiian people built their first churches in the Islands. Written in the 1940s at the centennial of the building of the stone church at Kawaiahao (the church was built at the site of Hawaiian sacred waters of Hao) this book provides interesting reflections from the author during WWII, as well as some original source accounts from church documents.
