This is one of those times when I wonder to myself whether the publisher read the same book I read. Maybe there was some devious plot afoot with two stories being switched at printing, and I just got unlucky enough to get the hideous, annoying, barely literate story instead of the beautiful, interesting and readable one. I actually have doubts as to whether editors have even heard of this book. If so, the ones responsible for giving it their stamp of approval should be fired, and probably slappe...more
WOW!
The book started off a little slow and I couldn't get started on it. But I forced myself to read after chapter 1 and after the cliff incident i was totally hooked. I could barely out the book down.
It hot, sexy romantic, action packed, heroic, ect. All the stuff i like in a book.
Libby Drake, the good girl of the family, likes this guy named Tyson Derrick.

Dangerous Tides is book four in Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series. The story revolves around Libby Drake and Tyson Derrick.
Libby is the confirmed "good girl" of the Drake family. Her power lies in healing others, and she has spent her professional life as Dr. Libby Drake, traveling the world with Doctors Beyond Borders, trying to help those in need.
Tyson Derrick is a brilliant biochemist working for pharmaceutical company BioLab. Spending most of his life in a lab, Ty spends his vacation...more

Libby Drake, fourth of the seven magical Drake sisters, is the compassionate one, a doctor with a heart of gold, unable to say no to anyone. She can't seem to be able to say no even to people who are vegetating in their hospital beds, more dead than alive, with their brain resembling scrambled eggs.
Well, that's Tyson "Ty" Derrick for you. The daredevil genius researcher slash firefighter's harness had broke while he was trying to save a teenager.

I enjoy Christine Feehan's Drake Sisters series. The sisters are all lovely - if a bit perfect - and it's a nice break from the angst of the Carpathian books. Her heroes still tend to be alpha males, but they're not as totally annoying about it as the Carpathians are.
There's a lot of wish fulfillment here; seven beautiful sisters with magical powers who love each other with a depth and strength most people can only dream about. But that's okay so long as you start the book with that awareness. I...more

Christine Feehan’s Dangerous Tides, is the 4th book in the Drake Sisters series. This one features the family healer, Libby. She is brilliant, giving and sweet. And she has never been attracted to any man except Tyson. They went to school together and she never though he noticed her. She was wrong.
PLOT SPOILERS:
Ty may be a super-genius who works on the cure for cancer, but in his free-time he likes to work with Search and Rescue operations with the Fire Department. (Where are all these genius/st...more

When I checked out this book from my e-library, I didn't realize it was the fourth in a series, so there were a few mentions of previous events that I didn't QUITE get. However, the book is very readable without the prefacing of the other three novels. With seven sisters, it was hard to keep track at first, and I still couldn't tell you what the age order is of the girls except the first and last ones.

So now I'm in the middle of this series and found the best parts of Dangerous Tides were the ones that foreshadow Hannah the powerfully magic sister and Jonas. This book featured the goody two shoes sister Libby who yearns to be naughty just once. There were some dissatisfying events in this book.
1. Ty is so brilliant and brainy he suffers from social skills . So why didn't someone introduce him to Damon, Sarah's husband who is also one of the smartest men in the country and hated most people.

When changing from author to author as I have from LJ Smith to Christine Feehan, the style of reading took me some time to re-adjust, once I adjusted I found myself very engrossed and caught up in the book.
The style is very in-depth in describing the characters, which at times I found slightly overwhelming and maybe a little confusing in the beginning(and I admittedly skipped some text) although realized a requirement to understand what each character was about and what their feelings were in th...more

The story of Libby finding her true love. We also confirm the matches for the remaining three sisters, but don't yet know how they'll get together. I found this book to be somewhat disturbing--full of malice, vindictiveness and hate. There are so many near death experiences and hateful speeches that I had a hard time enjoying the romance. Libby is also a bit passive in the relationship, excusing a lot of behavior in Tyson just because he shows he likes her. The book also gets a slow start, with...more
This was the fourth of a series of seven. I haven't read any of the previous stories so even though it took a little while to get into the story, I believe it works fairly well as a stand alone book.
This is the story of Libby and Ty, two uber-geeks who somehow find each other. There were moments when I wanted to smack one or the other (or both) of them upside the head, it all worked out in the end. I must admit that I was disappointed in a couple of things. First of all, one of the main conflic...more

Dangerous Tides is the forth book in the Drake sisters series. The story focuses in on Libby Drake the very sweet and sensible healer who is also a genius and doctor and the socially awkward, adrenaline junkie but brilliant biochemist Tyson (Ty) Derrick.
The story is rather good, I like that things are not as they seem and there are times that you have to make sacrifices. The character development was quite good and so was the plot. I also enjoyed the mystery of it all I kept going back and forth...more

Dangerous Tides is primarily a love story, as all of the Drake Sister's novels are. When read from a purely romantic viewpoint, this is a very good story. The mixing of science, medicine, magic and long denied attraction makes this book, in my opinion, one of the better stories of the series.

I am not sure why I have such a hard time remembering that this is Libby's story. Libby is one of my favorite Drake sister. She want so much to be like Joely and she just doesn't do the bad girl very well. I also like Tyson very much. He can be a little forgetful but once he decides to make the effort to remember for Libby's sake he does get a little better. Dangerous Tides is the first story to make me cry. The end where Libby and Tyson find out who has been trying to kill them just about tore...more
Dr. Libby Drake… the good sister, of even temperament, easy to see the good & the pain in all, understanding… her talent is healing, both as a regular doctor with great intuition as well as an empath, able to sake the symptoms of the ailment to herself and healing the patient, and relying on her sisters to heal her, and she can sense danger… She travels the world with different organizations – Doctors without Borders, animal protection, indigenous people protection…

I just loved this story. Every day I looked forward to those precious moments when I could pick up the book and read.
Ty has always been different from other people, smarter, an nobody really understood him. He had a difficult childhood because his parents didn't love him and his social skills are, euhm... zero. But secretly (even to himself) he has always been in love with Libby, a woman with healing powers. I can just see how difficult it would be for Ty, a rational man, to accept that Libby ha...more

I struggled with the rating of this book for some time. In a way I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I did any other 5 star book but I felt like I couldn't give it any less.
I had some major issues with it though, and it's a testament to Feehan's writing and the Drake Sisters' Series that I still ended up really enjoying with it.
First off, Tyson. You absolute twat. The whole point of his character was that he couldn't socially interact like a normal person and people did think he was a total tw...more

3.5 stars. I loved the glimpses into Jonas/Hannah the most and seeing more of their banter & build up before their book. Those two always manage to make me squeal with anticipation everytime they appear. As always the sister’s camaraderie was heart-warming. Libby was a nice heroine and Tyson while nowhere as interesting or impressive as Jonas, Jackson and Ilya; I did like that he was a geek & he had his moments to shine. It did take me awhile to warm up to Ty & Libby as a couple but...more

Continuing the Drake sister family saga, Dangerous Tides is Libby's story. As with the other books in this series, I truly enjoyed this story and revisitng Sea Haven and the Drake sisters. Although Tyson's character drove me nuts pretty much for the whole book, I found his love for Libby endearing and was glad they found their HEA in the end. Besides an enjoyable story, I enjoyed the action and how the plot was not too predictable. I also continue to love the themes of family and magic. I am sti...more
This entry in the Drake sisters series takes a bit of a step back from the high danger atmosphere of international crime syndicates that pervaded much of the previous book. While it doesn't fully return to the lighthearted sweetness of the first two books, it does manage to strike more of a balance between the joy of two people finally admitting to themselves and to each other how much they love one another, and the dangers posed by those who seek to murder either one or both of them for reasons...more

Despite a slow start, I ended up loving this book. There was much to love in it, after all. If you read this book, hang in the past the helicopter scene, which was filled with a bit too much technical information. You might like it, but I found it was a little dry for me. Shortly thereafter, things really take off.

Great book! Exactly what I would have expected, just what I wanted, and exactly what I got. But then again, I've been with the Drake Sisters since the beginning, so I'm biased.
Feehan knows how to write descriptions so that a vivid picture pops into your head. I adore the banter between the sisters ~ it makes you feel close to them, as if part of the family. Next in the spiral. Well, this was an interesting hero. There were times when I found Ty practically unbearable. Granted, he's a super genius, but it was actually fascinating to see someone who seems borderline autistic at times growing into a positive relationship. His attitude when they first visit his new home (trying to avoid spoilers) was so aggressive it seemed he would not have been able to take no for an answer if Libby had needed more time... from there to rape is a very short step. The fourth book of the Drake sisters was my first.
Libby, the brainy sister, is a compassionate doctor. She works for Doctors without borders and other humanitarian societies on her free time. She is also a sucker for intelligence in men. One of the brainiest men she has ever met is Tyson Derrick. They competed throughout school and drifted apart after Harvard. She went in to practical medicine and he into medical research. But neither forgot the other.

Another good one! I couldn't put it down yesterday (of course the alternative was doing laundry and cleaning!) One thing about all of these sister's is that no matter how great their talent, their beauty, whatever, their intelligence, they all have some self-esteem issues. I can't decide if I like that or not. On the one hand, that probably rings true and is how most women feel. On the other hand, I feel impatient with it because I don't think they should feel that way at all.
Recomendo vivamente!
