Katie's new next door neighbour is MRS DERKMAN (her 3rd grade teacher). It turns out to be really bad. Mrs Derkman wants all dogs to be on leashes. And Katie turns into her own dog Pepper! She destroyed Mrs Derkman's garden and Mrs Derkman's cucumbers have been nibbled - but it wasn't Pepper, it was a little dog. But THEN Mrs Derkman likes the puppy and Katie wants to know if she would like to keep Snowball and apologize to Pepper, and that did happen.

It's every kid's worst nightmare when the teacher moves next door. Katie's life gets very complicated when first her teacher moves in, and then reveals that she doesn't like dogs at all. What's worse, Katie has become Pepper!

Cute and fun story from the point of view of a dog - SQUIRREL!

In Doggone It, it made me feel sorry for Pepper that someone else's dog was eating Mrs. Derkman's vegetables and Pepper got blamed for it and had to be on a leash.
