This is a good solid resource. A lot of good solid reformed doctrine in here... His treatment of the covenant of works is worth the price of the book. He denies it on exegetical and historical grounds. I wish that more of those in his tradition were as honest and fair on this topic as he was. In the end, it suffers from being too Clarkian in some areas and in other areas it is "too" amillennial, but in other areas it exceeds its peers. Herman Hoeksema (1886-1965), a Dutch Reformed theologian, was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to the USA in 1904. After studying at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he began his ministerial career in the Eastern Avenue Christian Reformed Church of Grand Rapids - at that time one of the largest reformed congregations in the United States.
