A horribly unromantic love story with very unlikable characters and a very boring plot. Skip this one unless you want to read about a hero who has no respect for the heroine, is with another women the whole book, and or like doormat heroines that yearn for that type of hero.

Please God let Something start happening!

This book is SO boring!!!!

Actually on second thought, I am more then 50% of the way through this book and there has been absolutely NO romance! NONE! Not even a little flirting!! And the rest of the story line just rambles on and on...

This is supposed to be a romance right!?

I'm not going to go into too much depth in this review because in all honesty, I don't have too much to say about it. After reading so many reviews, I really thought this book was for me: A hero with jerk tendencies? Count me in. A door-mat heroine? I'll take it. A jealous girlfriend? Heck yes. A book that's main focus is based on anything revolving around an advertisement company? Uhhh, no thanks. In the real world I already have enough stress as it is, so the absolute last thing that I needed was to read a romance novel, (And I highly stress the word romance) that makes me feel like I'm at a freaking job.

I could see how the whole heroine having a crush on the boss and innocent flirting crap can be cute... For the first fifty pages or so... But a first kiss wasn't even shared until I was 50% into the book- I don't like my romance novels to ever feel rushed, but that's a little extreme even for my taste. Not to mention, Lexi's "crush" she had on Vincent since her high school days was bored-line stalker. Let's face it: That's not attractive... It's scary. And Vincent... I'll admit, I tend to like my heroes on the jerky side- But in my opinion, many times throughout the book he was the one who initially came off as a door-mat with no spine- His girlfriend is consistently rude to Lexi and his family, while in the meantime he becomes a mute. Here's a little piece of advice Vincent:

Grow a pair.

Over-all, all I can say is that this book would be great... For someone interested in a marketing career. There was certainly enough information on how to pitch your product and sell a company's ideas. The story line held potential, but ended up being a complete bore. (less)

Exhausted...

It took me a lot of patience to finish the book. I tried to like it but honestly, I couldn't. The characters made me angry, the slow-paced story was so boring, and the writing style wasn't helping at all. I want to say more but I'm too tired...
At least I finished it.

Not my cup of tea.

Not quite 4 stars and the reason been had it not been the fact that this was a buddy read I wouldn't have persevered as long as I did. I was @ 33% before I really felt the story took off & I became invested in it.
One of my main problems was Lexi. How the author describes her & how she acts are so far apart that it distracted me.
But once I got past this and got absorbed in the romance I really enjoyed it.
Hope & Sean were great side characters.
PS this book is smut free.

WOW! This book was just wow. I thought that it was going to be boring but damn it was a good book with a great sense of humor. I laughed so many times. I loved all the characters except the EVIL Jade. She really pissed me off I just wanted to tell Vincent to stop being such an ASSHOLE and dump her ass. The story was told from both Alexi & Vincent's point of view. She, a painfully shy high schooler who has had some hard knocks in her life, but was coming out of her shell and trying to make a life for herself while dealing with this old High School crush that has grown over the years. He, dealing with alot of people in his past who have let him down, walked out on him, left him alone and deceived him. Is wildly successful and dating a superficial supermodel (Jade). She is safe for him because she never get's close enough for him to open up his heart to her.

He fights his growing attraction and love for Lexi. His family loves her and encourages her to go after him. They realize that the betrayal he has experienced has made him angry and untrusting of people and see her as the key to unlocking his real self.

It comes down to a trust issue...scandal rocks the family firm and sometimes things don't look the way they actually are. Does Vincent you trust Jade...the safe one or Lexi...the one who has the power to hurt him? Who is telling the truth? Can a man who has been let down, lied to and betrayed in the past recognize loyalty and truth?

This story follows it's own formula for contemporary romance rather than the normal script. It has maybe three or four hot kisses in it, describes no sex scenes like so many romance novels these days and yet does portrays to the reader the intense sense of longing, attraction and emotion of a relationship.

You feel can Lexi's years of silently loving this boy now man and how much it hurts to see him with Jade. And the author does a wonderful job showing Vincents growing attraction and addiction to Lexi as he contemplates letting Jade go to take a chance and trusting again.

Although I enjoyed this immensely, if I were to change anything I think that the ending I would have written the epilogue a little different. I find after reading so many romance novels that I do miss the sex scenes, even if it is a small one thrown in at the end. I also would have liked a scene at the end with them interacting with Vincent's family again. And what of Sean and Hope? I or Christina and Julian?

One highlight was the dialog and banter between Vincent and Lexi as well as the other characters (including Jade and Lexi-that was a hoot) It was a fun and believable story.

Vincent has a wall built around himself, even when it comes to his loving family. He is the VP of the family owned advertising firm, has a supermodel girlfriend, Jade, and is probably one of the crankiest men around.

When Lexi begins looking for a job she stumbled into a position with the Hunter Advertising firm in the form of Vincent's assistant. He is a brilliant man but is well known to run off assistant after assistant. Lexi, needing a job desperately uses her sassy attitude to set Vincent straight.

Shortly after Lexi begins working with Vincent he realizes she's not like the assistants he's had in the past. She's bright, creative and innovative and that catches his attention right away. He takes her under his wing and becomes protective of Lexi, which infuriates Jade.

When Lexi becomes friends with Vincent's sister, Anna, his friend and co-worker, Sean and even his mother and brother in law, Vincent does his best to keep her from weaving her way into his heart. Lexi and Vincent do become close while working together on major accounts. Their banter and sweetness endeared both of them to me and had me rooting for them.

Lexi's growing feelings for Vincent are sweet and cute and I really felt the emotions. Try as he might to keep her at arms length Vincent begins to fall for her too. Their friendship is fun and flirty but their emerging feelings make things complicated for them both. Rumors begin flying in the office and in the advertising world.

The drama that pulls Lexi and Vincent apart was anger inducing and frustrating. I KNEW things would work out but it was still nerve wracking to see it all play out. Victoria Michaels weaved a lovely story that tugged at my heart, had me smiling, made me tear up and in the end, gave me warm fuzzies. It was charming and funny and sweet. It had everything that usually appeals to me, even a smidgen of unrequited love. I'm so glad I was able to finally pick up Trust in Advertising. I encourage others to do the same.(less)

Trust in Advertising is one of the most enjoyable books I have read recently. As a girl, I like to read some sweet romance stories from time to time and this book is exactly the one to please my girslish heart. I was fascinated by this adorable story about two people and their gradual process of falling in love with each other. This book seemed to take off a little slow for me and I wasn't 100 % sure where it was going, but I'm glad I kept reading. Lexi was an awesome character. Her family values and strong will to succeed make her impressive in comparison to other female characters I've read.

And Vincent...the dreamy, arrogant, sexy boss. I had a love/hate relationship with this character. He seemed so easy to love but understandably easy to hate at time.

This book is about second chances and following one's dream. And for that it deserved being praised.
It has adorable characters that you really can relate to and love. I really liked the heroin and the hero, and their friends and family. The author really knows how to create charismatic characters.
In the other hand it had a little bit of problems with the story development especially in the end. The author really knew how to build up the suspense, but I don't think she knew how to end it. Spoiler...more

Vincent’s had a tough life too and can’t seem to shake off his MAJOR trust issues…until Lexi. ;) One thing Lexi has going for her is her ability to get past Vincent’s trust issues. Vincent has a habit of going through personal assistants and has a new one assigned to him often. So when Lexi gets hired he no doubt believes she will be out the door ASAP, but our Lexi is stronger than that and surprises him. One memorable scene has Lexi trying to find an elusive file and Vincent knows she will fail at finding it. One can only imagine the look on his face when she reports finding it.

Along with Lexi and Vincent, Michaels did a great job of creating a wholesome family atmosphere. The Drakes, the Caldwells, and Vincent’s best-friend Sean, are the ones you want to have a barbeque with and invite over for a few laughs. Everything seems perfect, until we remember that Vincent is still with his supermodel girlfriend, Jade. *gags* She’s the girl you love to hate because she’s astonishingly rude, even to our adorable five-year-old Madison.

There’s so much we loved about Trust in Advertising; and we highly recommend it! If you’re looking for a book that not only talks about two people falling in love, but also about a woman taking chances and fighting for her own happiness, then add it to your list NOW! I really did enjoy this book and it was so well written, so well done Victoria!

But I just found it so long winded.
I wish things moved a lot quicker (quite unusual for me as I'm usually moaning that books are too fast paced. But yeah, I'm a HUGE sucker for romance and love scenes...don't get me wrong, this was a very cute romance but it lacked the love scenes I crave so badly *sigh*.

I adored this book! All 435 pages of it. When I saw the page number I was like urgh, this is one of those books when you read about 100 pages and then you just can't take anymore of it. I WAS SO WRONG!

I loved her. She was real, adorable and I felt with her. I could relate to what she was feeling.
I loved him. He was a pain in the ass, real and an idiot.

Very disappointed. This book was well written and I liked the characters. Even though I'm generally drawn to stronger female leads, I liked Lexi's transformation. Even more than that I'm really not the type of woman to be okay with the fact that it takes this man paying attention to her to bring about the change. However I can admit that in my 20s there were times where I was more confident in situations knowing I had drawn the attention of someone in particular.

Okay, so I love reading chick lit. I love books with dreamy boys in it, you know, the rich-suave-hot-tempered-pretty-boys lol who doesn't? WHO??? So, I basically love the story. It's sweet and cute. I like sweet and cute lol but it's a little predictable. But I like that there was a lot that happened before they got together. I love reading about their ups and downs. And reading from both protagonists point of view is really reassuring for me, as a reader. At least I know what Vincent was thinking while Lexi was scribbling notes as his assistant. I love reading the man's perspective cos you know, guys think differently from us girls. At least I know the reason why he's smiling like an idiot in one scene or why he's mad.

I admire Alexandra White, for being so selfless and loving and caring and... oh she's too much! I have to say, as a girl, she's someone I want to be. I admire her dropping out of college to care for her sick dad, at least she dropped out for a purpose, not only because she's an ass or something. I admire her smart-mouth and witty responses to Vincent and I admire her courage. She's strong for facing problems such as the death of both her parents and stopping her life for ten years and meeting her high school crush again but this time as her boss. Well, at least she got to meet him again. This was like a second chance given to her, to start over and be someone that she had wanted herself to be, ten years ago. This is really inspiring. The message of the book is like, never give up on something or someone that you want especially if that something or someone is meant to be for you or with you. Agree? Yes, you should lol

I love the whole Drake clan and how they welcome Lexi to their family. They are so supportive of her and Vincent. And i like how they hate Jade, Vincent's supermodel girlfriend who only eats veggies lol she is such a bitch (sorry for the language, but you'll also hate her if you have read the book) Ugh. This book has made me think that supermodels are spreading their legs to every business man/opportunity that comes to them, in real life. I know, I know, that's wrong but I can't help it. Seems like Jade and her friends in the book does that every time. Uhhh, what else? Ohhh I love Hope!! She's such a cute best friend. I know they only knew each other for five or six months but the girl's a badass lol that's why she captured Sean's heart. And I love Madison!! Such an adorable little girl, it's so funny when she asked Lexi and Vincent to read Beauty and the Beast to her as a bedtime story and she made them dance and kiss. Such a cute chapter lol

Oh there is so much to say but I think I should stop. This is getting to long but I hope I helped you convince to read this work. I know the writing is not that good but it's okay, you'll love the story. This book made me cry and blush, I love it! Ciao!(less)

So I think the best word to describe TiA all around has to be tame. It was a tame start, the entirety of the middle was tame, even the climax of the story was tame. Tame tame tame!

this book proves one point:

a way to a guy heart is through his stomach ... totally obvious, when he was with Jade he ate salad, and Lexi would bring him bacon, and burgers and fries and all sorts of food that make you drool. you get my point, how can you fall in love with some one who lives on salad LOL

but, to be serious ... the story has so much more. characters are elaborate and the way it all fits together, uhm, in some parts of the story that really bugged me, for example from all the people...more

The premise and the cover drew me in to read.

First I just want to say that I truly enjoyed this book. The characters were very well thought out, portrayed, and relatable. Lexi's vulnarable yet forced confidence was written brilliantly along with her witty dialogue. Bravo on the banter!

Second I want to address my only 'cons'. It's nothing bad. It seems a good deal of books (especially ebooks) lately have more errors - such as missing certain words. I know this is an easy mistake and I make them...more

The story of Vincent and Alexandra was absolutely delightful, even the mundane things. I found this book to be an enjoyable read. What made this book really good was the character development - Vincent and Alexandra did not end where they both began. There was plenty of romantic tones mixed with sarcastic and witty humor, too. I know I laughed and teared up in certain places of this book.

I loved it!
And I want more... Damn it, I even consider reading it again right now.

Im rarly going to cry that early into a story, than with this one.
I often read books where the parents of the lead character died too early, but in this story it really got to me when I learned that Lexis Dad died five moths before the story takes place.
I cant even explain why because its rare for me that something touches me like this.
But there where enough situations that made me laugh too.

I was lucky enough to be an early reader for this fantastic novel and I cannot sing its praises enough. Victoria Michaels has brought us yet another wonderfully written novel that captivates us from the very beginning.
