A horribly unromantic love story with very unlikable characters and a very boring plot. Skip this one unless you want to read about a hero who has no respect for the heroine, is with another women the whole book, and or like doormat heroines that yearn for that type of hero.

This book is SO boring!!!!

Actually on second thought, I am more then 50% of the way through this book and there has been absolutely NO romance! NONE! Not even a little flirting!! And the rest of the story line just rambles on and on...

This is supposed to be a romance right!?

So I give up! DNF

OK Scratch that I hate just giving up. And then I couldn't help thinking what if the book got really awesome?

1.5 Stars...

I sincerely thought I would like this book more than I did. The premise seemed intriguing enough. A highschool girl named, "Lexi White," has a MAJOR crush on the very handsome, very popular football quarterback (who, of course, has no clue who she is) named, "Vincent Drake."

Now, fast forward Lexi's life 10 years after highschool graduation and years of caring and nursing her father, who unfortunately succomes to Alzhiemer's. Lexi, quickly leaves the small subburb of San Francisco an...more

To sum it up: Lexi White finds herself at a crossroads. After putting everything on hold to care for her ailing father, it's finally time for her to start living her life again. An exciting new job holds the promise of a fresh start, until she comes face to face with someone from her past who has always stopped her dead in her tracks, and who evidently still has the power to make her forget her own name. This time around, Lexi's a grown woman who refuses to back away from her dreams, even if it...more

Exhausted...

It took me a lot of patience to finish the book. I tried to like it but honestly, I couldn't. The characters made me angry, the slow-paced story was so boring, and the writing style wasn't helping at all. I want to say more but I'm too tired...
At least I finished it.

Not my cup of tea.

Not quite 4 stars and the reason been had it not been the fact that this was a buddy read I wouldn't have persevered as long as I did. I was @ 33% before I really felt the story took off & I became invested in it.
One of my main problems was Lexi. How the author describes her & how she acts are so far apart that it distracted me.
But once I got past this and got absorbed in the romance I really enjoyed it.
Hope & Sean were great side characters.
PS this book is smut free.

WOW! This book was just wow. I thought that it was going to be boring but damn it was a good book with a great sense of humor. I laughed so many times. I loved all the characters except the EVIL Jade. She really pissed me off I just wanted to tell Vincent to stop being such an ASSHOLE and dump her ass. But no with his insecurities he had to dump her at the end of the book. I really wished the author had gotten them (Lex & Vin) together like half way through the novel. But then again there we...more

I never had the opportunity to read Trust in Advertising in it's original form. I am now kind of glad about that. I absolutely adored the story of Lexi and Vincent. Two people that have been hurt by their pasts in one way or another.

Vincent has a wall built around himself, even when it comes to his loving family. He is the VP of the family owned advertising firm, has a supermodel girlfriend, Jade, and is probably one of the...more

Trust in Advertising is one of the most enjoyable books I have read recently. As a girl, I like to read some sweet romance stories from time to time and this book is exactly the one to please my girslish heart. I was fascinated by this adorable story about two people and their gradual process of falling in love with each other. Storyline flowed easily, I was never bored and it was quite addictive reading for me.

Author succedded in creating perfectly lovable main characters, adorable side charac...more

This book seemed to take off a little slow for me and I wasn't 100 % sure where it was going, but I'm glad I kept reading. Lexi was an awesome character. Her family values and strong will to succeed make her impressive in comparison to other female characters I've read.

And Vincent...the dreamy, arrogant, sexy boss. I had a love/hate relationship with this character. He seemed so easy to love but understandably easy to hate at time.

The story wasn't just a love story, but a drama filled with sorro...more

This book is about second chances and following one's dream. And for that it deserved being praised.
It has adorable characters that you really can relate to and love. I really liked the heroin and the hero, and their friends and family. The author really knows how to create charismatic characters.
In the other hand it had a little bit of problems with the story development especially in the end. The author really knew how to build up the suspense, but I don't think she knew how to end it. Spoiler...more

Trust in Advertising is a love story that will make your heart melt and break…in a GREAT way! Lexi has just lost her only other family member, her father Harry, and she moves to San Francisco to start over. She had put her dreams to work in advertising aside to care for Harry, and now she’s ready and willing to give it a second chance. Her best friend, Hope, gives her the courage to apply for jobs and she lands a great job in a prestigious company, Hunter Advertising. However, she never would ha...more

I really did enjoy this book and it was so well written, so well done Victoria!

But I just found it so long winded.
I wish things moved a lot quicker (quite unusual for me as I'm usually moaning that books are too fast paced. But yeah, I'm a HUGE sucker for romance and love scenes...don't get me wrong, this was a very cute romance but it lacked the love scenes I crave so badly *sigh*.

In relation to the actual story plot, I thought it was brilliant. The way the characters were portrayed etc ever...more

I adored this book! All 435 pages of it. When I saw the page number I was like urgh, this is one of those books when you read about 100 pages and then you just can't take anymore of it. I WAS SO WRONG!

I loved her. She was real, adorable and I felt with her. I could relate to what she was feeling.
I loved him. He was a pain in the ass, real and an idiot.
I loved them. Their constant teasing, their interaction when he was pissed.

SO I loved the book, incase you missed it. I laughed and laughed and la...more

Very disappointed. This book was well written and I liked the characters. Even though I'm generally drawn to stronger female leads, I liked Lexi's transformation. Even more than that I'm really not the type of woman to be okay with the fact that it takes this man paying attention to her to bring about the change. However I can admit that in my 20s there were times where I was more confident in situations knowing I had drawn the attention of someone in particular.

BUT...Lord have mercy, when I was...more

My rating: 2.5/5

I can't decide whether to give this a solid 2 for "it was okay" or a solid 3 for "liked it" because it was both okay and I did kind of liked it... BUT. But I think the book just goes on and on with the loving (or liking) from a afar, the banter and obvious flirting which goes on and off the entire story. At first it was cute, interesting, but when I felt like I've been reading forever... I couldn't find any sign that Lexi and Vincent would further their flirtationship until almos...more

This book has an awesome beginning. It got me hooked. It basically started with Alexandra White's Graduation day & her encounter with her crush Vincent Drake. Only to jump 10 years after, when Lexi's father dies of Alzheimer. She begins looking for different job, only to get one headed by none other than Vincent Drake.

This was really enjoyable at first. But what brought the rating down was how it became predictable halfway through. At that point, I wanted to just dump this but the style of w...more

Okay, so I love reading chick lit. I love books with dreamy boys in it, you know, the rich-suave-hot-tempered-pretty-boys lol who doesn't? WHO??? So, anyway, this book has a dreamy boy and his name is Vincent Giovanni Drake. Oh my, I want my own Vincent Drake. I remember having a big crush on someone when I was in High School and... oh let's not dwell on that, I have moved on lol

So, I basically love the story. It's sweet and cute. I like sweet and cute lol but it's a little predictable...more

[Trust in Advertising] by Victoria Michaels is a contemporary romance about Lexi White, administrative assistant to Vincent Drake, the man whom Lexi has had a major crush on since high school, yet who doesn't remember her after 10 years. Through the ten years, Lexi has had to quit NYU to care for her ailing father who eventually passes away from Alzheimers. She decides that she's going to try to get a job at an advertising agency because that's the career she's always dreamed of having. Then com...more

So I think the best word to describe TiA all around has to be tame. It was a tame start, the entirety of the middle was tame, even the climax of the story was tame. Tame tame tame!

Having said that, I have to admit to liking the story none the less..its in no way in your face in any retrospect, theres no edge of your set suspense( though there is a sorta mystery) and theres little to no heat whatsoever to speak of, but I was entertained throught the story...it was slow, and gradual, and I'll admi...more

I had this on my to-read shelf, and deleted it. Jaq & Lindsey both gave it 5 stars, so I decided to give it a try. Yea! In high school Lexi was quite, shy, and invisible. She graduated second in her class, and was thrilled to leave her hometown for college in New York. She only got to stay three semesters, when her dad got sick. Her mother passed away when she was young, so she was all the family he had left. For eight years she put her dreams on hold to take care of her father. Shortly afte...more

Seriously!? This book is very nice. I really loved. I just finished a very good book a few days ago and I'm very excited to read the sequel that will be released in 15 days and I was trying to find another good one to distract me. And I read another two books that was nice but didn't make me forget this incredible book. And then I found out about trust in advertising and I must say that I couldn't remember about any other book while i was reading it. Yeah this book is that good. It's predictable...more

this book proves one point:

a way to a guy heart is through his stomach ... totally obvious, when he was with Jade he ate salad, and Lexi would bring him bacon, and burgers and fries and all sorts of food that make you drool. you get my point, how can you fall in love with some one who lives on salad LOL

but, to be serious ... the story has so much more. characters are elaborate and the way it all fits together, uhm, in some parts of the story that really bugged me, for example from all the people...more

The premise and the cover drew me in to read.

First I just want to say that I truly enjoyed this book. The characters were very well thought out, portrayed, and relatable. Lexi's vulnarable yet forced confidence was written brilliantly along with her witty dialogue. Bravo on the banter!

Second I want to address my only 'cons'. It's nothing bad. It seems a good deal of books (especially ebooks) lately have more errors - such as missing certain words. I know this is an easy mistake and I make them...more

The story of Vincent and Alexandra was absolutely delightful, even the mundane things. I found this book to be an enjoyable read. What made this book really good was the character development - Vincent and Alexandra did not end where they both began. There was plenty of romantic tones mixed with sarcastic and witty humor, too. I know I laughed and teared up in certain places of this book.

From the beginning I was a fan of Vincent, although Alexandra held majority of the spotlight. Vincent seemed...more

I loved it!
And I want more... Damn it, I even consider reading it again right now.

Im rarly going to cry that early into a story, than with this one.
I often read books where the parents of the lead character died too early, but in this story it really got to me when I learned that Lexis Dad died five moths before the story takes place.
I cant even explain why because its rare for me that something touches me like this.
But there where enough situations that made me laugh too.

I loved Lexi and Vince...more

Well, I have to say that 'Trust in Advertising', despite its 'unique' title, managed to bring itself to my favorites...more

I was lucky enough to be an early reader for this fantastic novel and I cannot sing its praises enough. Victoria Michaels has brought us yet another wonderfully written novel that captivates us from the very beginning. As with her other novel, I could not put this one down and was completely captivated by the story of two people who reconnected after so many years and found themselves within each other. Their lives, which were seemingly different from the outside looking in, were beautifully wov...more
