Now, it appears that the tables have turned and the most dangerous figure of all is someone human with dark desires to join Solaman's mission. Can Elizabeth convince Solaman to rejoin forces without throwing her own life back into jeopardy and save the world from an even darker/more powerful immortal creation?

Things just get juicer and juicer for Elizabeth and Solaman. As much as they push each other away physically, they are oddly drawn back together emotionally due to uncontrollable forces - which makes this a fascinatingly spontaneous romantic read. Their relationship is quite electrically charged and any unexpected interactions between the two really add sparks to the overall story. The new character additions (i.e. Senator Dante Greyson and American actor/cousin Josh Alexander) really added another level of intrigue to Elizabeth's muddled world. Lots of Scenery changes compares to Book #1 as well, so, on the whole, be prepared for plenty of passionate adventures, unbelievable vampire/historical myths, and a wild treasure hunt. Bring on Book #3 - Blood Eternal !!

Likes: The "Adam Simon" party interactions were brilliant and I thoroughly enjoy them.

Dislikes: Elizabeth's close friendship with Mihaela comes off as forced to me and, in my opinion, was created for the sole purpose that Elizabeth could have a close character as the voice of reason throughout much of the Awakened by Blood series. (less)

I have to say, the more I blog the more surprised I seem to get with each book I read. I really lived a very sheltered life within my world of books, I usually didn't go outside of my favorite authors and was quite happy to stay there, and then one day I finished the book I was reading and went to my shelf to get another and low and behold every obsessed readers nightmare.........my shelf was empty lol. I didn't have anymore books to read. So I said to myself "Away to the Internet to see if one...more I have to say, the more I blog the more surprised I seem to get with each book I read. I really lived a very sheltered life within my world of books, I usually didn't go outside of my favorite authors and was quite happy to stay there, and then one day I finished the book I was reading and went to my shelf to get another and low and behold every obsessed readers nightmare.........my shelf was empty lol. I didn't have anymore books to read. So I said to myself "Away to the Internet to see if one of my favorite authors has released anything new for me to buy". So off I go to the Sony ebook store and found some good books and happened to look at one of the reviews, which took me to the Goodreads website, which got me talking to some bloggers which brought me to having my own blog, which totally got me reading way outside of anything I usually read.

I have to say I have never been so happy. I would not have had the absolute privilege of a lot of very amazing authors. So here I am blogging as part of a book tour for Bewitching Book Tours and again I have found another amazing series that I am proud to recommend. So now that I have babbled on about my journey to this point lol (sorry lol) I will share my thoughts on this wonderful series.

Since I have read all three books, I am going to review as a whole set instead of individually :)
So to start with, we have two main characters which absolutely drew me right into their story, you can the pull and attraction they are fighting, especially since they are meant to kill each other. Marie does an incredible job at making you FEEL the attraction they have for each other. In the second book you see Saloman and him being so stubborn in not sharing his feelings for Elizabeth, and she keeps denying him, but also her loyalty of her feeling for Saloman, and so it carries on to the third book as Elizabeth gets somewhat obsessed with Saloman. It truly is a great love story you wont want to miss out on.

All three books are superbly well written, I was hooked from book one and couldn't turn the pages fast enough to get to book two, well if I wasn't hooked from the first book I was with the second and on to book three I went, I love Marie's writing style, it just flows so smoothly, she takes you right into their worlds with such description I almost felt like I was right there. The whole story is such a refreshing new story line and so exciting from page one to the end and into the next book and then the third, my advice is to make sure you have all three books when you start reading or you will find your self at the book store minutes before it closes to get the next one.

Now if I say anymore I will be giving away and spoil the story for you all and we all know how much I hate doing that to anyone, so I will be finished now and just say, go to the store now or online and order your set of this amazing series, I cannot wait for the next book. Blood Sin takes place six months after Blood on Silk. I liked the flow of this novel from the first but it did have a little of that arch between book feel were you know you are being bridged from one place to another. Even having said that, I never felt pushed in any way and I liked Blood Sin.

Finding Saloman’s sword and Dante’s purpose for why he wants it, puts Saloman and Elizabeth fighting on the same side. She is still torn between her loving, longing and needing Saloman and her loyalty to the hunters. Elizabeth must play both sides for the good of the world, but in the end she is going to have to betray one side or the other. She can only hope it will not cost her, her life.

I extremely enjoy the story line Marie has put together in this series. This second book is equally as good as the first if not better. I love the refreashing new story. I love the way Saloman is the perfect bad guy but in reality he is not the bad guy at all. He is old school sexy and powerful. His stubbornness to show Elizabeth exactly how he feels about her is a bit frustrating. You want to just yell at him and tell him to explain what he has been doing with the other vampires, so she can see his good deeds. But I know it’s part of his charm. You can't help but love Saloman.

Elizabeth also frustrates me at times. It’s hard to see how she can deny Saloman, but at the same time it makes her a better character because of that strength. I love her loyalty to her feelings for Saloman. I know most authors would have tossed in another love interest to make it more complicated, but Marie keeps Elizabeth too focused on Saloman to see any other love interest and that makes me happy. I wouldn't want to see her with anyone else. Even at the times when Elisabeth knew she could never be with Saloman she still never had eyes for anyone else and I felt that was a great part of the story.

The story is exciting from start to finish. It is a refreshingly new story line it keeps you on your toes just waiting to see what will happen next. I am excited to read the next installment, I hope that Saloman and Elizabeth can work together in this next book that would make it all the better.

After his encounter with Elizabeth, Saloman began his quest to conquer the world by bringing all the vampires under his dominance. Seeking to extend his will across North America, he encounters Elizabeth while she is protecting/hanging around Josh. When they meet, the passion between the two of them still burns powerfully. But Elizabeth must make a difficult decision. Will she ally herself with her own kind or risk everything for love?

I simply loved Treanor’s first book, Blood on Silk, and was excited to read Blood Sin. Although Blood Sin’s pace is a bit slower, it does not disappoint. The soul of the series is Elizabeth and the underpinning conflict. Will the heroine choose love or loyalty? In the second book, she continues in her struggles to overcome her love for Saloman and stick to her beliefs. After all, he is a villain who uses his powers of persuasion to take over the world. He believes that only under his rule can humans do better. No villain is scarier than one who believes whole-heartedly in his agenda. And yet, I couldn’t help but wonder, can she change his mind and bring him to the good side?

The only quarrel I have with the second book is that I would really like to see more of Saloman’s thoughts or his point of view. Up till this point, we only understand Elizabeth, but Saloman is still an enigma. How can we fully understand Elizabeth’s love for him if we don’t know him well enough? I don’t really know what makes Saloman tick. It will be interesting to read more about him in the third book.

If you enjoyed Blood Silk, you must keep going with Blood in Sin. This book definitely has me pumped up for the next book in the series!

Saloman has been very busy the past six months. He's worked very hard to become the overlord of most of the European and South American vampires. He now has his sights on two things: having the American vampires fall under his rule and getting back his sword, which is currently in one Josh Alexander's possession. He finds the perfectly opportunity to snatch it back when he's invited to a weekend party at the vacation home of Senator Dante Greyson in Scotland.

The Senator has managed to coerce Josh to bring the sword with him to the party, under the guise of having is appraised. But he has more in mind for that sword. He needs the sword of the great Ancient Saloman in his bid for ultimate power.

Elizabeth and Saloman must now work together to find out why Dante wants the sword so badly, all while Elizabeth tries her hardest to protect her cousin from meeting the end of Saloman's pointy incisors and help the hunters ensure Saloman doesn't possess the sword.

I really, really enjoyed this installment in the series. We found a depth to both characters that we didn't see if the first book. Elizabeth struggles with her feelings for Saloman and all the things that he's working for that go against her way of thinking. While she tries very hard to sway his way of thinking, she can't help but fall more and more in love with him, while hating herself a little bit more knowing he'll never feel for her the way she feels for him. She's almost reminded me of an abuse victim, who knows what's going on is wrong and knows she should break away, but just can't seem to do it. It's a little heartbreaking.

Saloman is still the smug, arrogant bastard that he was in Blood on Silk, but we start to see cracks in that foundation. Sure he still wants world domination, but he also starts teaching vampires to live a different way of life (such as you can drink from a human, but you don't need to kill them). His ultimate goal is for both humans and vampires to co-exist as they did a millennium ago. You can see that part of Elizabeth's initial arguments with him have made him changed his course, while still doing what he wants. But Elizabeth is never far from his thoughts. He's not sure why he feels for her the way he does (and he does compare the other woman he's slept with in the past six months to her), but she's a distraction he's willing to play with again.

Both characters seem to realize there is something about the other, no matter how much they themselves may object or their friends to their relationship, that keeps drawing them together. It's finally Elizabeth who decides Saloman is worth fighting for...no matter what.

A superb addition to the series which sets us up perfectly for the finale book, Blood Eternal. (less)

She knows it does no good to dwell on relationship that can never be; but, she cannot escape thoughts of him. When bodies of victims who stem from her bloodline are found she feels she must contact a movie star cousin, Josh Alexander she has yet to meet. She must warn him that he may be next in line. Of course, Josh thinks Elizabeth is beautiful but bonkers. Yet, he invites her on a plush dinner with a powerful and conniving U.S. Senator who has rented a house in England. Little does she know that the trip will propel her back into danger and back into the arms of Saloman.

Josh possess a secret. He has been entrusted with the family's antique sword. He knows that Senator Dante lusts for it like a junkie craves crack. But he is ignorant as to just how far he will go to get it. After the sword is stolen. Josh and the Senator returns to New York. Elizabeth and Saloman team up to go after the sword and discover thwart the Senator's attempt at immortality and power. Elizabeth and Saloman have opposing aims but they lead to the same destination. In the end, Elizabeth will have to betray the man she loves and will this bring an end to both her life as well as their love?

I just loved this story and how the mysteries are ever unfolding. I especially enjoy seeing the growth in all of the characters. Thanks to Saloman's prompting, Elizabeth no longer views the world in black and white and with the guidance of Elizabeth, Saloman is able to see the value in mercy. What is so compelling about this series is that Marie Treanor writes vampires the way they should be written. They are not fluffy bunnies that can be trained to the wims of humans, they are evil and do no apologize for being so. This is what makes this series so interesting. The reader truly does not know just who the bad guy really is: human or vamp?

If you are looking for something new and different, definitely give the Awakened by Blood series a try. You will not regret it.

Beautifully worded and easy to pick up if you haven’t followed the series, Treanor crafted a story that will draw readers into her world and leave them wanting more. I am in love with the gentle growth of this story. There is a TON of action, adventure, confrontations and romance...yet we watch these characters GROW into their relationships. The exasperating man hasn’t given in one iota when it comes to his driving need to take over so he can rule his way. Thrown into the mix this time is a power-hungry senator who wants immortality, a distant cousin of Elizabeth’s who’s on Saloman’s revenge list, and an ancient sword that holds untold influence and is the topic of a dangerous ownership battle. Josh, Elizabeth’s cousin, believes the sword is his since his family has safeguarded it for eons. Senator Dante wants it only for what it can give him. But it’s Saloman who is determined to have it in his hands once again for his own reasons.

The sword is stolen and the race is on to find out if it will eventually be used for good or ill. Saloman makes his way to America to confront those vampires against him, asking Elizabeth to accompany him to continue their recently found camaraderie in battle, but Elizabeth goes with the understanding she’s searching for Josh only. Spending time with Saloman is a dream come true, however, and she’s living for the moment every night they spend together. Even Saloman begins to look forward and cherish those homey times, thinking he could live in this way the rest of his forever.

Twists and turns are woven throughout, just as in the first book. Saloman is always unpredictable. He’s the only one who knows what he’ll do and what’s in store for him, making his own fate. Except when it comes to Elizabeth. She’s not sure she’d want immortality if he asks, but she does want to be asked. I, of course, want her to go for it, be with her vampire into eternity. Darn her morals and principles! I was hoping by the end of this book Saloman and Elizabeth would have come together more. Their few times together are intense and sizzling, but I want more. Now. So it’s going to be interesting to see what Ms. Treanor has for us in the next book when it comes to these two.

Though we do have to wait for that last book and we’re left hanging again, it’s the epilogue and the excerpt that follows that gives a snippet to keep our interest and anticipation high. I have a feeling explosiveness is an understatement at what will happen next. But how I’m looking forward to it.

This second novel in the series is just as engaging and compelling as the first.

I really enjoyed this installment in this wonderful story. The world building, twists and turns are so exciting and wonderful. You have a hard time putting this book down. I really enjoyed this installment in this wonderful story. The world building, twists and turns are so exciting and wonderful. You have a hard time putting this book down. You move from one thrilling moment to another and you never know what Saloman is going to do next. He is unpredictable, mysterious, sexy and powerful! Elizabeth doesn't want to have feelings for him and wants him to remain an enemy but but she is so totally sick with love for him and can't let go of that.

Elizabeth wants to know that she means something to him....more than just a one night stand here and there. Dmitriu tells her she is more to him....she is a companion and thus she means more to him than anyone. He tells her to be prepared for when he offers immortality. something none of his many lovers through the ages have been offered. Saloman knows her is torn between him and the hunters. He knows she is conflicted over his priority to bring vampirism into the light and her fearing the power Saloman will wield once that happens...she feels she must fight him to protect humanity but part of her wants to stand at his side.

As his awaken-er she finds her self in a couple dirty fights and Saloman is there fighting along side her. Each kill brings her more power...ability. And a very diabolical Senator wants to be turned by being killed by Saloman's sword while reborn with one of Saloman's children. It is said that this way the new fledgling will have greater power than Saloman and can ultimately rule over all vampires and humans.

This novels is about the truth of Saloman's sword....it is about loyalty, friendship, about Saloman gaining allies and Elizabeth giving into her feelings, exposing her actions to the hunters. Finally it is about Saloman and Elizabeth trying to make sense of their relationship and emotional bond to decide if they are truly lovers or enemies? Or both?

I was pretty sad with how things ended in BLOOD ON SILK. They have so much chemistry together and it was hard to see them put that aside instead of finding a way to work together. Blood Sin is Marie Treanor's second book in her Awakened by Blood series. I've already bought the third and possibly final book in this series. I've enjoyed watching Elizabeth and Solomon fall in love. He may not know he's there yet but he's close and she loves him very much. Now that she's finally had to choose and seal her allegiance to him and is no longer torn between him and the hunters it should be interesting to see how she proceeds in the next book. I'd say it's at least a 4 out of 5.

Better than the first in my eyes as Elizabeth has become a very strong woman, able to resist even her love for him in her search for "rightness/goodness".

The story is captivating and all the characters enjoyable. Notice that this book has an open ending and it's clearly a middle book in a longer story arch.

I am really enjoying this series. I liked the 2nd book even more than the first. The storyline was interesting. I like the author's take on her vampire world. The characters are well developed and I am in love with Saloman. Elizabeth is a great heroine. I have already jumped into book 3 Blood Eternal.
