The book goes through various shapes and what everyday items illustrate that shape. Each baby "sees" a different shape and we have babies different races and ethnicities. I like that there's diversity, but I had a hard time thinking that it was anything special. It could definitely work to start a conversation between the baby and the caregiver, but they would have to go that extra step.
A very sturdy board book with a different sort of spine that causes me to wonder how it will hold up under library use. The illustrations are very colorful with large text in the main body and words that go with pictures for the different shapes. Nice!
