I think this is my third or fourth Junie B. Jones book. And thankfully this version had less grammatical errors (or it felt like it to me - the author likes to "talk" like a child and the writing is usually purposefully filled with mistakes, which as an avid reader drives me crazy).
My niece is 6 and has fallen in love with Junie B. Jones. She takes these books out almost every week from her school library.
The character is cute. This particular story was about Ha More...

This book is, almost literally, filled with non-stop laughs from start to finish. I'm not talking about little chuckles, either; Boo...and I Mean It! is one of the funniest books that Barbara Park has ever written. Junie B. is at the top of her comedy game here, having me quite literally rolling on the floor in laughter at certain points during the lively narrative.
I would gladly recommend this book to anyone, but especially to those readers who are fans of Junie B. Jones's humor, and wa More...

My children are big fans of Junie B. Jones and often bring these books home from the library. This is my favorite of the series so far. (Not that we read them in lock-step order.) It treats Junie B.'s fear of Halloween and clowns -- which she deals with by deciding to *be* a clown for Halloween. Barbara Park's sensitive yet light-hearted expression of a 7-year-old's view of the world worked especially well in this story. Though I don't adore all the JBJ books, as a series for elementary schooler

I love these books. Will put a smile on your face that stays there as you continue to read. So funny.

Junie has been told some things about Halloween that make her afraid of it. Because of this she doesn't want to go trick-or-treating. Her father is away trying to get a job and she is home alone with her mother and little brother and the grands. She decides that the best way to be safe on Halloween is to dress up as the thing that scares her the most...a clown! But the clown doesn't scare anyone and she is scared. But after falling asleep with her makeup on her father comes in and gets scared by

Over all I like the Junie B. Jones series of books. I've read a few from the original series when she was in kindergarten and now a few here and there from her year in first grade. The series suffers from an inconsistent character development. Junie B. seems to take on character traits to fit a comedic moment and then lose them again by the next book.
In Junie B., First Grader: Boo and I Mean It! it's Halloween and Junie B. wants no part of it. Apparently she's now scared of the holid More...

Ah…more Junie B Jones. This time she has the dilemma of getting a Halloween costume. By reading this book I learned that candy corn is not really corn. Crap.
Anyways, I remember some extremely humiliating Halloweens. I don’t know if other people cared as much as I did, but it still shocks me that our house never got egged. Let me first share with you the Halloween that my mom decided, along with our dentist, that she would hand out mini-tubes of toothpaste instead of candy. I More...

The 24th installment of the Junie B. Jones series. Junie B. is now a first grader and afraid of Halloween. She decides to dress as Squirty the Clown, since he was the scariest clown her family ever met. That way she can scare away any monsters she may see on Halloween. This book has cute illustrations and some parts have a journal in kid-style printing (and spelling). Junie B. is pretty funny, and these series would be great for reading aloud to early elementary school grades.

Scary clowns - one of the creepiest things I can imagine...so you can bet that Junie B. will pick that costume for Halloween, so she can scare all the other spooky things away. Our girls just thought it was silly, but I understood the logic. Anyway, we've really enjoyed the Junie B. Jones series, with her 6 year old vernacular and her quirkiness. We're coming to the last few books in the series and I think we'll miss her.

This book is about Junie B Jones. It takes place the day before Halloween and on the day of Halloween. At first she is afraid of Halloween, but she overcomes her fear. Her baby brother helps her by being a funny cow. The boy who has 5 scary secrets does not help her at all. She and her Mom yell at each other in the costume store. Halloween is a good and bad day for Junie B Jones.

In this book Junie B. is in search of a Halloween costume that will scare off all the real witches and monsters that come out on Halloween. She has the perfect idea for her costume but must make do with the materials in the costume shop. In true Junie B. fashion her plans don’t work out quite as well as she wanted, leaving her vulnerable while trick-or-treating.

Forced to read these books by my overly-interested 1st grader, I find them all to be about tolerable due to Junie B.'s bad attitude. This book is set during Halloween, a holiday that junie B. has some issues with---oh gosh, she has issues all over the place, doesn't she!? Girls enjoyed it. Sarcasm alert: can't wait to see what next title we'll be reading!

I love Junie B Jones so I read this book in the hopes of finding a cute halloween story to read aloud at an event. I was a little disappointed in this one though. It was not nearly as cute or true to a child as earlier books have been. It was still enjoyable, but not something I will be reading aloud.

Boo...and I Mean It! reveals that Junie B. Jones is afraid of Halloween thanks to Paulie Allen Puffer. To solve the problem, Junie B. dresses up like Squirty the Clown...what could be scarier? Younger readers will love another Junie B adventure!

I read it to my brother and I think that this is truly a little kids book. It is good for first grade and below but after that it becomes childish and boring. I do not recommend for people who are over seven years old.

Every one of these books makes me laugh out loud. Sometimes to the point of tears. The best is when my son reads it to me, b/c it sounds like Junie B. is laying next to me and telling me her story.

I like how she dresses up like a clown and she forgets to take her costume off and her dad comes in and he is scared. She tried to scare everybody all day but it didn't work. She got to scare her dad.

We enjoyed this book because it was scary and funny. Sometimes, it was even too scary! Junie B. is a funny character, but she was irritating when she was Screamy the Clown and kept screaming.

I read this book to my son in 30 minutes at the library. I had only listened to these books and found myself reading it outloud the same way the narrator read it on the audiobooks.

So far this is hysterical... a clown chased Grandma Helen Miller and squirted her w/seltzer water at some point and Mother can't believe Junie B. wants to be that clown for Halloween. But see Junie B. is scared of Halloween so she is picking the scariest thing she knows to be so she can scare off others. Mother scolds Junie B. for being naughty in the costume shop and tells her basically to quit being mouthy to which Junie B. replies, "well that is going to limit the rest of our conversat

Junie B. wants to scare the monsters on Halloween, so, a Squirty the Clown costume is the perfect choice...well, sort of...hilarious!

A funny Halloween tale about Junie B. Jones, who seems to suffer from an unreasonable fear of clowns (among other things) in this book.

Junie B Jones books are very clever and fun for readers just starting to read on their own.
