This is the third book in a series. I am not sure what really happened in those first books, but this book has enough info that you can get into the story.

Part of the book talks of Elizabeth who uses anyone she feels will suit her needs, and doesn't care what happens to them. She calls this "The Game". She meets up with Cassidy in a class she teaches and feels she will come in handy later, so she takes her for coffee and talks to her telling her fiction stories of herself that she knows will mak...more

"Heart of Ice" by Lis Wiehl with April Henry is part of the "Triple Treat" series which follows a group of three friends: a TV reporter, a Federal prosecutor and an FBI agent—as they investigate crimes together. The group did remind me a bit of James Patterson's "Women's Murder Club", but it is a format that works and I will definitely be reading more in this series.

The story starts out fast, and keeps you guessing all the way through. As the plot progresses, you discover more about the backgro...more

Heart of Ice features a cold-blooded killer who could be your next-house neighbour, best friend, gym teacher, and swimming instructor anytime. Elizabeth Avery has good looks and the prefect body. She is the envy of all women. However, beneath her mask of perfection hides a scary monster - one that will do anything to get what she wants - including eliminating those who stand in her way. And once again, the Triple Threat Club members are in action to find out the mastermind behind a series of plo...more

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. It was just fantastic, so good I am referring it to friends. I also am going to read all the other books by Lis Wiehl, and happy I found a new author who peaks my interest. From start to finish, it is jam packed with suspense, thrills, and twists. It centers around a ruthles, cold-blooded killer, Elizabeth, who is one of the scariest and hearltess sociopaths I have ever found in a book. Scary part is, she's gorgeous, intelligent, and a master manipula...more

Elizabeth is a sociopath who likes to lie, steal and manipulate others. It makes her feel strong and powerful, like she felt when she had Sara's house burnt down. Sara deserved to be punished. Joey Decicco loves lighting fires, so when Elizabeth pays him to light a fire at a house, he is happy to oblige. After all, he'd do it for free. Unfortunately, Joey isn’t as clever as Elizabeth, which means that Elizabeth has to do some of the hard work herself… and the body count begins.

Three best friends come together to solve a grueling mystery in this heart-pounding novel. The reader is introduced to the characters of three women who are clever, interesting, and inquisitive. The antagonist is a deadly beauty who cannot be easily stopped. The authors do a terrific job of developing the characters and enticing the reader to like the characters and continue reading.

The way the author describs the relationship between the three friends will have the reader wanting in on their fr...more

Heart of Ice is a book in a series from The Triple Threat Club involving three women; an FBI agent, an FBI prosecutor, and a TV reporter. They are best friends and at times work together and solve the worst of crimes.

In Heart of Ice, a series of gruesome murders becomes very personal. The reader follows this suspense mystery while sharing how good friends stick together during adversity.

The strength of the authors is character development. It would be advantageous if readers followed the series...more

This past month I read a really intriguing book called Heart of Ice by Lis Wiehl. The book is the third book in a series called The Triple Threat. In Heart of Ice the reader is immediately introduced to a pyschopathic killer who lives under the alias Elizabeth Avery. Elizabeth seems to the rest of the world to simply be a normal, fit and active woman who works and lives just like the rest of the world. She is, however, a manipulative person who uses other people to further her own goals. When El...more

I just finished the third in the Triple Threat Novel series by Lis Wiehl, a former federal prosecutor and currently a legal analyst and commentator for Fox News. The book is about three friends, Nicole a federal agent, Allison a district attorney and Cassidy a TV news co-anchor who all get involved with a crime. Due to their particular jobs they come at the crime from a different perspective, and assist each other in solving it.

The perpetrator, Elizabeth is a master at deceiving people and befr...more

Known for her fast pace storylines and attention-grabbing characters, Lis Wiehl adds yet another page-turning novel to her Triple Threat Series.

In Heart of Ice, readers meet Elizabeth Avery a calculated predator, who is also a master manipulator and uses anyone and everyone in her path to accomplish her sinister goals. Elizabeth covers her tracks well and is able to lure even the most unsuspecting victims into her web with her beauty and charm. No one is off limits to Elizabeth, not even innoce...more

The triple threat team is back again. Allison and Nicole are working on gathering the evidence to convict the killer dubbed as “The Want Ad Killer” by the media. Cassidy is working on covering the story of the killer. But another set of events brings them together. This time it is the link between a missing reporter, a murder for hire and personal issues that challenges the ladies. Sometimes people are not as they seem and should not be trusted.

“Heart of Ice” is a story about three best friends, Allison, Nicole, and Cassidy. The three became good friends at their 10 year high school reunion. Allison is a federal prosecutor, Nicole a FBI Agent, and Cassidy a crime news reporter. All have different personalities and problems of their own. Then one day, Cassidy meets the beautiful and charismatic Elizabeth Avery. Unbeknownst to the three friends, Elizabeth will flip their world upside down and bring them along for a ride.

This crime novel features Allison, a Federal Prosecutor, FBU Agent Nicole and crime reporter Cassidy. It is the third book in the Triple Threat series but can definitely be read as a stand alone novel.
At the Portland Fitness Center, Cassidy joins the boot camp class run by the seemingly flawless instructor Elizabeth Avery. Elizabeth is a master as manipulating people. The icy sociopath has already had her fellow former inmate, Joey Decicco, committing arson for her. Now she has her sites set on...more

This was the third book in the series. I have not had the chance to read the first two. However, that didn’t preclude me from enjoying this one immensely. Each book is a separate entity which is nice because you don’t feel like you missed anything by not reading the others. I do plan on going back and reading the first two in the series. If the other two are as good as this one, then I know that I will be in for a wild ride.

"Heart of Ice" is a suspense novel. Unlike the previous two novels in the series, there was no mystery in this one--you know who the killer is from the beginning. Actually, the first 84 pages read like a women's fiction novel because our three heroines focused most of their attention on their personal troubles (a recent miscarriage; loneliness; and possible breast cancer).

If you've read the previous novels in the series, then you'll probably care enough about the main characters that you'll be i...more

Elizabeth Avery has a Heart of Ice. All sociopaths do; and the scary thing is, they could be your coworker, your neighbor or your friend, and you’d never even know. Elizabeth is very good at “the game”, manipulating others to do anything she wants. Such is the case with Cassidy Shaw, Channel 4 crime reporter.

When Cassidy signs up for a fat burning boot camp at her local fitness center, she’s instantly in awe of the amazing instru...more

Lis Wiehl & April Henry have recently become one of my favorite writing tandems. About a month ago I came across this book at the library and though I thought it sounded interesting....being anal like I am there was just no way I could start reading the 3rd book of a series without having read the previous 2. The other 2 were very good reads (I have reviewed them here)and I was ready for the 3rd installment...It did not disappoint at all! I would call this clearly the best of the 3 IMHO!

Heart of Ice by Lis Wiehl with April Henry is an excellent thriller. It will keep you reading far into the night, if you dare.
It was amazing to me in this story how Elizabeth didn’t seem to have any feelings or heart for anyone, but herself. She uses and abuses people everywhere she goes. I like how you know exactly who did the killings and why in this book. It isn’t a book where you have to guess who did it because you already know.

This is a story about three women, working in criminal investigative jobs in Portland, Oregon. Federal prosecutor Allison Pierce, FBI Agent Nicole Hedges, and television crime reporter Cassidy Shaw, long-time friends from school, team up to find a cold-hearted killer before more lives are lost. Time becomes more critical when the killer threatens to harm them and their loved ones.

This is the third book in a series called Triple Threat, named for the three main characters. In my opinion it is the...more

I haven't read many thrillers that are Christian, actually I don't think I've read any. I was a little concerned about how interested I would be since I'm not too huge on the crime thriller genre in the first place. Anyways, I would say this is on par with other secular books I've read in the genre, and it held my attention well enough throughout it.
I thought there were too many stories going on to really connect with any of the characters. The most interesting person was Elizabeth, but she's...more

If you are looking for great suspense with strong female characters, this is it.

It's written by Lis Wiehl, legal analyst for Fox News, with the help of April Henry, an accomplished suspense writer.

I'd describe it as chick lit suspense novel, that explores friendships of women interwoven with a very suspenseful crime story. The villain is a beautiful, charming woman who also happens to be a sociopath. Wiehl draws on her experience as a prosecutor and creates a great story. This book is the thir...more

Heart of Ice (Triple Threat #3) by Lis Wiehl and April Henry was such an awesome read that I’m sorry to see it end. The Triple Threat Club follows three intelligent women, Cassidy ~ Allison ~ Nicole (they reminded me of James Patterson’s Women Murder Club). TV Reporter, Cassidy meets up with beautiful Elizabeth Avery at her gym. Unbeknownst to her, Elizabeth is an ice cold killer. She plays “the game” and manipulates everyone around her, and a few of them she persuades to kill for her. Cassidy t...more

This is the third Triple Threat novel featuring federal prosecutor Allison Pierce, FBI special agent Nicole Hedges, and Portland, Ore., TV crime reporter Cassidy Shaw. However it could be read as a stand alone book. It doesn't play much into the previous books. I would recommend it being read as part of the series so you can get know the characters and what they are going through in their personal lives. This book isn't a mystery like the other two books in the series. It's more suspense and won...more

When I first read the summary of the book I didn’t think there would be much thrill since it clearly states who the sociopath killer is, but it still intrigued me. I was immediately proven wrong within the first few pages, as I could not put it down! It is chock full of mystery and thrilling suspense. The killer, Elizabeth, is your typical neighbor next door. She could be your bank teller, or a helpful nurse in a doctor’s office. A seemingly independent beautiful woman who seems to have everythi...more

This was a freebie book from Amazon they sent me to read and review for them. Overall, I thought the book was okay. I really enjoyed the woven web the author created between the serial killer, her past, and her manipulation of people in the present. This was a quick read that kept me reading. The parts that lost me were with the three friends (Nicole, Allison, and Cassidy). I liked their friendship and for the most part I really liked how they were woven into the story. What I didn't like was:
