There are several reasons to love this book. Let me give a few:

1 - Bradley doesn’t critique simply the outward failures of Black Theology – its Marxism, its failure to speak to contemporary economic realities of blacks in America, misguided biblical interpretations, etc – but he critiques the presuppositions of the movement. Anthony Bradley provides a clear picture of Black Liberation Theology and offers a both solid criticism of the theological movement and insightful appreciation of its features that evangelical Christians need to hear. My only complaint is that Dr. Bradley didn't offer more of his own thoughts and suggestions to the issue of race in our society. The topic of black liberation theology is one that doesn't get too much attention, and neither does liberation theology in general. (Lib Theology is essentially advocating for the poor while unfortunately and probably inadvertently putting Christ on the back burner.)

I became interested in this topic during the 2008 Presidential election and Barack Obama's pastor, Rev Jeremiah Wright, put black liberation theology on the map.
