Die gesamte Baker Street-Serie von Pierre Veys (Text) und Nicolas Barral (Graphik) ist in jeder Hinsicht sehr gelungen.
Veys Geschichten, die nicht auf denSherlock Holmes-Kanon zurückgreifen sind stimmig, bauen die üblichen Verdächtigen ein - neben Holmes & Watson besonders die Haushälterin Mrs. Watson und den hier sehr trotteligen Inspektor Lestrade - und sind gut auf die Länge zugeschnitten.

This whole Baker Street series makes me laugh.

Barral and Veys deliberately use Jeremy Brett as a visual reference for their Holmes in this French-language send-up (in parts) of the Granada TV "Sherlock Holmes" series from the 1980s. This first volume is probably the funniest; the others are a bit of a mixed bag in comparison.
I don't understand how someone would like this book. The characters have nothing to do with the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It's okay to create your own characters and name them as a tribute(?!) like Doyle's characters but I still expected a little bit of intelligence. Sherlock acts like a sulky toddler, Inpector Lestrade is far from clever or solving any crime, Mrs Hudson is an insane housekeeper while Dr Watson is an alcoholic who solves the cases by coincidence ...more

Pierre Veys was born April 7, 1959 in Cambrai, in the north. After graduating, he spent a year studying biology, but quickly turned to screenwriting, news and gags. His influences are from the authors Jack Vance, Michael G. Coney and Yves Dermèze (Paul Bera).
