This was a great book for a “who to know” in photography. Spanning photographers from the medium’s inception to present day, it’s an excellent review of not only who is important in photography, but why. It also gave me a proper reverence for the photography achieved with the earlier equipment, and for the talent and vision of those earlier photographers.

i picked this up during one of my book grabs at the local library - i'm not sure what attracted me to it, but i suppose i wanted to know about some of the thought that goes into photography.

Lots of inspirations to take from.
I have found inspiration in the visions of many photographers featured in this compilation. Their words and works are stunning and passionate.
This book was actually edited by Brooks Johnson, but Cindy Sherman is an interesting photographer!
